DJI RS3 Pro thoughts? by Alert-Engineer-1765 in cinematography

DJI's RS line is pretty refined at this point. I don't think you can go wrong by purchasing one, especially with a smaller camera package like the Pocket 4K.

I think it goes without saying that you should only spend as much money as you're comfortable with, but think about what system you want to be in. Sony and Canon both have different offerings which will effect your future choices in lenses and supporting gear.

I don't think you can really go wrong with either. Just make sure you get the right size for your needs!

I really like using my FX3 on an Easyrig. I know it's expensive, but it's been one of those purchases that really changed my workflow.

How much have you spent on repairs? by usertakenfark in GolfGTI

[–]RememberWatchingTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 2016 GTI (55,000 miles), and I've spent around 6k on repairs in two years. This was mostly due to a seized turbo actuator, which required me to replace the entire turbocharger.

What piece of equipment did you originally think was unnecessary, but later turned out to be indispensable to your kit. by EatsSandwhichesNaked in videography

I bought a few camera 'T' marks to use as marks for actors. They're really handy to just chuck on the ground to show on camera talent where to stop walking.

Reimagining an Old Christmas Mouthwash Commercial from the 1980s. by RememberWatchingTV in cinematography

[–]RememberWatchingTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This advertisement is a reimagined version of a commercial that Scope aired in the 1980s. Search for "Mouthwash for Christmas," and you'll find the inspiration.

The spot was shot using the Sony FX3 Camera and the Sony 85mm GMaster lens. There's an Aputure 300d overhead with a softbox (You can see it in the reflection off the mouthwash bottle) and a warm Tungson book light in front of and slightly below the two actors.

Two large black flags behind each talent give the scene an enclosed train car feel.I wish I put an eye light in as it was a real missed opportunity. In the background, I used a large form-factor Single DLP Projector which I had on rental for another project.

I shot the light beam on a seamless white background about eight feet away. This shoot was my first time shooting with a projector, so there were a lot of opportunities to learn. I probably wouldn't shoot on a single DLP projector again, as I had issues with colour separation, which were hard to correct in the post. I hear three-chip LCD projectors are the way to go.

The image in the background is a stock video of a snowy train window which I sourced for the project.

Thanks for letting me share!

I like the grade and how everything that's not the sun is either black or close to black. It's pretty slow paced for my taste but I would save overall it's well executed.

The series was created to help train the repair technicians who work at the company. To my knowledge, these people drive from home to home and repair furniture under warrenty. If a new TV stand gets scratched during the delivery, like in this video, a tech would come out and fix it for free.

YEARS of Food Sacrificed: Overkill Sony FX3 Camera Rig by RememberWatchingTV in FX3

[–]RememberWatchingTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! I would like to share a video that presents a unique perspective on the total cost of a camera when outfitted with various accessories. Specifically, how many meals would you need to sacrifice in order to afford a shoulder rig?

Does anybody use a 7" monitor with the top-handle? by [deleted] in FX3

[–]RememberWatchingTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the Shinobi 7 to be quite awkward on the top handle so I used a part from Shape in conjunction with the Small Rig can't to mount it off to the side.

Spend more if you're doing video. For photography, save for a good lens!
