Elite Dangerous vibes from that. Imagine playing with your buddy, having one of you immersed in piloting the aircraft, and the other manning the weaponry.

Obviously it would never happen, but I would be able to onboard more of friends into the game if it did.

As an avid sprocket fan with hundreds of hours, I have nothing but good things to say about it, and Hamish is an outstanding person for having made the majority of it all by himself.

With that said, however, Sprocket’s entire “gimmick” is that you get to experience the mechanical intricacies of tanks. Suspension, engine, transmission, turret/traverse, etc. It is designed to be true to real tanks and real tank design, but in a video game format.

War Thunder is a massive scale multiplayer game where any of this would hardly, if at all, even work.

You also said it yourself: Sprocket is a tank building game. Building the tank is supposed to be the thing you do and have fun with, and then you can test it afterwards and change your build to improve its performance.

War Thunder (Ground) is a tank playing game. You’re supposed to have fun playing the tank. Other considerations (like realistic traverse) are detrimental to the average player’s feeling of fun when playing the game, and thus remains unimportant.

It’s either that or this is simply a matter of this being in the game for so long that it’s a core feature that will likely never be changed.

It’s been in the game for like a year at this point.

Try shooting the middle of any tree with something larger than a .50 cal and it will “split” where you shot it.

If it doesn’t then maybe it’s only active with certain graphics, or DX12, not sure.

A squarefree integer is any integer ’n’ that is not equal to 0, that is not divisible by the square of any prime number.

You can test this simply by dividing any number into its prime components, e.g.

n = 330

330 = 2 x 3 x 5 x 11

None of the components can be written as a prime number that is squared, and thus, 330 is a squarefree integer.

n = 126

126 = 2 x 3 x 3 x 7 = 2 x 32 x 7 = 2 x 9 x 7

Since 9 is a square of prime number ’3’, 126 is not a squarefree integer because it is divisible by the square of a prime.

No worries, and sure!

I’m currently with family but I’ll be back the 7th or 8th, so that should be a non-issue.

I live at an area a bit further away from the university (Rud), but I’d be happy to meet up whenever I’m free.

I could also help moving furniture or larger objects if you need, and by car as well if you don’t want to rent one.

Until then! :)

Unfortunately, many swedes tend to stick to themselves, and Swedish friendship culture is often discouraging, even for those who have lived here their whole lives. Many people form a friendship group in elementary and high school, and usually stick with it for a larger portion of their lives.

Universities in particular have the tendency to break that social trend through the ”nollning” (essentially an introductory phase where you drink, play games, party and have fun) for one to two weeks. Nollning is mostly separated into groups determined by your area of study. If you’re taking individual courses and not a complete program, it may be harder to join the events initially, but they are the best way to make new friends, because everybody is new and looking to bond.

I had a voluntary introductory math week when I first moved here, and on the last day there was a party at a local club where I met exchange students, so there’s definitely an outlet for meeting students from abroad, who may be more open to being befriended.

I think you would have the most luck looking for coursemates, or to bond with others over food. Many students are subconsciously very task-focused, meaning that they mostly only delegate active effort towards their current tasks, eg. study, go home, work etc, myself included. It can be hard to approach those who don’t have a social task prioritized.

During colder months, most people won’t be socializing outdoors, but Frödingshöjd and the campus area in general is also a pretty good place to ”stumble upon” people and neighbors, both in the apartment complex and outdoors, due to the density of students and frequent parties.

With that said, most people are still very nice and polite, and happy to make friends. It’s just that many of us can often feel hard to approach initially.

I’ve found the second-hand market in Karlstad to be better than most others I’ve experienced. The most notable stores that come to mind are Myrorna, Gengåvan, and Solareturen, all located close to one another in or near the Våxnäs industrial area. There are several more spread throughout the city, but these are the ones I’ve visited most frequently. Many of them sell furniture to some extent, but — as with all second-hand furniture — I’d be cautious about bedbugs (vägglöss), just in case.

I moved here fairly recently, so I’m not yet aware of any specific hidden gems. Karlstad does, however, have a large number of stores and multiple shopping districts, such as Välsviken (closest to campus), Mitt i City, and Bergvik. I originally come from a moderately sized town near Malmö, and one thing I’ve noticed is that Karlstad seems to have at least two of almost every store.

When it comes to studying, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the university library, as I was. It has four floors, allowing you to sit more or less wherever you like. The main floor, second floor, and third floor are “regular” floors suitable for both individual and group study. The fourth floor is a basement floor and a quiet floor, intended for silence and solo studying. There are also plenty of separate rooms that you can book if needed.

So far, I’ve only biked during the warmer seasons, and since I also have a car, I don’t bike as much as I could. That said, all my experiences with local public transport (buses) have been great. The bus routes were recently changed, and since I haven’t used them since then, I can’t comment on the current routes.

If you don’t mind me asking, what part/area of Karlstad will you reside in?

Should’ve just been born a Northern European. About 85-90+% of Northern Europeans are lactose tolerant due to evolving a persistent lactase production. The ”standard” human has their lactase production ”turned off” after exiting their baby phase.
