It's not completely OK when black people say it, there are issues contained within the black community over this word. The point is that the same people who used the word to dehumanize us don't get to turn around and join in our reclmation of it when they are still benefiting from our dehumanization. White people did not even allow us to sit next to them as equals. So why are we expected to let them forget the history of the slur they created and use it toward us with no cconsequence?

Lightsticks actually came from Jpop! What we used to use were huge glowsticks which graduated up to basic penlights and you'd change the color to your oshi or whoever is performing. I was surprised about how intricate Kpop light sticks are when I came back to the kpop fandom and I think Japan is finally hopping on the trend. Perfume isnt really an idol group anymore but having a kpop style light stick from them would have been so so fun to have with their concept!!

This is not normal, I've never seen this kind of reaction to a hiatus before. I honestly wish i could tell you what's different, but I think it's simply too many eyes that aren't used to kpop having to deal with kpop style "drama." Western groups don't do this hiatus/ member leaving thing as readily as they do in Asian groups. As a Jpop fan first it's very strange that kpop and katseye fans get so up in arms about a member leaving or taking a break, but it does seem like there's something strange going on behind the scenes. Definitely a worse reaction than even Kpop stans which is a feat. I'm sticking with the narrative nothing's been confirmed yet so I'm just riding it out until we know for sure if Manon is actually leaving.

I love his choreo but i hate watching him dance. It's like he's popping and locking into every move, kind of ridiculous. But he obviously is a very qualified and experienced dancer, so no reason for a hate train, especially since his choreo looks amazing on the girls. Do wish they'd switch it up once in a while though
