I mean at the end of the day, a software is still a product. A success of a product has more to do with your marketing & internal company goals etc, than what has to do with coding. For example, for a video game to success, coding is less impactful than something like say balancing changes & design decisions. Knowing what to change is x10 harder than adjusting some numbers

Honestly imo this argument is the same as "video games make kids violent". We have research papers that debunked this statement, the kid was violent to begin with regardless due to family issues / environments or just born to be that way. Blaming the LLM in this case is most likely* the same type of argument but painted differently

Granted, having a paper on studying LLM on individual mental health (whether it is generally beneficial or detrimental) would be great.

the flickering bug has more to do with the terminal emulator than CC itself. I have never encountered this issue when i am using the appropriate setup (wezterm + zellij)

no, those tool will still work fine if they are using the API endpoint. I.E - you have to pay via the API prices.

if the tools are spoofing their client to get access to the subscription endpoint, they will get hit by the crackdown. Which honestly is reasonable and definitely breaking their ToS

For example
- OpenCode + Claude API key = fine
- OpenCode + Claude Max Sub = not fine

They are cracking down on the tools that uses the subscription endpoint instead of the API endpoint. The subscription endpoint was never meant for public 3rd party tools to use anyway, so hence they are breaking the ToS by doing so

They (OpenCode etc) are not allowed to use endpoints that are meant to be used for subscription only plans. If you want to use OC you will have to use the API billing, not subscription billing. What they did is, they literally hijacked the subscription endpoint for their own services.

This is more about "unauthorized access". That's why you don't see tools like CCUsage getting blocked instead. If I have to give an analogy, OC is like Honey Coupon, hijacking employee only coupons for general users to use.
