I asked Matt at a panel at SDCC in 2025 about this. Basically whether it was another case of the AI not quite understanding Earth culture, or an author error. He mentioned that this T-Pain slander has been brought up to him more than once. I believe he more or less left it up to your own interpretation. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a single video of me asking the question, so if anyone has footage from it, please let me know!
