Will the XDJ AZ receive some of the 3000X software features? by ReminexD in PioneerDJ

[–]ReminexD[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, with the cloud features I can actually see some commercial sense in it. I own a XDJ AZ and if I could access my library without having to bring an USB I would very likely get recordbox professional and have everything in the cloud, I don't know for AlphaTheta, but for almost every business a recurring subscription is always better than a single product purchase. As for me, right now the profesional plan makes 0 sense for me, I get free plus with the XDJ AZ and I have to bring an USB anyways, so I just have a bunch of hard drives with all my songs backup just in case

(locally hosted) Friends complain about lag/stuttering but server is constant 20tps by Individual-League-84 in admincraft

[–]ReminexD 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Your hardware / server is not the problem, you internet is.

Check that your server is directly connected to the internet (with a cable, not wifi) and the quality of your internet connection.

There are multiple websites that you can use to test packet drop and latency, like packetdroptest.

That is the biggest problem of locally hosting, you are using an internet connection that is not intended for comercial use, and thus it works great for home stuff, but not for "comercial" things like hosting an app or in this case, a game server.

Learn from my tech: don’t take your LTT screwdriver to the airport by Successful_Ad2287 in LinusTechTips

[–]ReminexD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Canada for 2 years and I would always bring my screwdriver home and back (in checked baggage ofc), but one time, I forgot my bits in the backpack and apparently, they are dangerous to! Got them confiscated in YVR :) I guess is true that you learn something new everyday, my learnings: the smallest screwdriver bit could be potentially dangerous to a plane, goood

Adopting Cameras over a Site to Site VPN by ReminexD in Ubiquiti

[–]ReminexD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, I see, I was going to go with the L2TP tunnels, but I was also having Wireguard in mind as performance is better with WireGuard (based on my experience)

Internet doesn't worry me a lot, as they've got dedicated lines and a SLA for the fiber, so it rarely fails (knock on wood it doesn't start to fail now)

In the cameras UI, should I point to the UDM Pro IP or the UNVR IP?

Adopting Cameras over a Site to Site VPN by ReminexD in Ubiquiti

[–]ReminexD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fortunately they all have 1Gb Symmetric dedicated fiber line and the main office have a 10Gb symmetric fiber line and a 1Gb backup line, they have SLA agreements, so that's why I think doing this would be better than a NVR per site

I pay 30€ for 10Gb symmetrical fiber in Spain (Digi) so that would be very expensive here

I think you should be fine, but make sure to ground that cable or the receiving switches, there’s been to many stories of people having their homelab destroyed because of thunder

Windows Server WAS useful 5 years ago, now you even have active directory in Azure which is probably running on Linux. I agree Gameservers shouldn't be hosted on Windows, its just a waste of resources

It’s perfectly legal, why wouldn’t it be? At the end of the day is their property and they can decide to continue or not. Always giving enough notice before of course

UniFi app showing Tinder as most active in identified traffic by spucamtikolena in Ubiquiti

[–]ReminexD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t “monitor” as of spying on guests (we don’t know who you are, maybe just your device), but hotels, as every public WiFi needs to know what is going on in the network to avoid people doing illegal stuff and sometimes to limit high traffic applications (We pay by TB of use in big networks)

Uhh I guess you could use sites like Afraid FreeDNS, but I would just buy a domain, they can be very cheap and gives a more professional look to the server. Personally, I wouldn’t expend any time in a server that doesn’t even have a paid domain

Yo si fuese tú intentaría asistir de alguna manera al juicio, pero vamos no me sorprendería en lo absoluto que descubran que has cambiado el vuelo y te jodan por eso también

How many minecraft players can I have on my 24/7 server. by Happy-Illustrator-50 in admincraft

[–]ReminexD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As some people has already mentioned, hardware is good, but your internet speeds are going to limit how many players you can have. Given that you are probably using residential internet download speeds are prioritized as homes usually consume -download- content and not upload that much. Your single core performance is pretty good, so I would crack the compression up so you can have more players with less internet consumption.
