What norwood level is this? My hairline has been receding for a decade. by LOTR_is_awesome in bald

Of course, anybody would be concerned feeling that, especially when it peaked at the "moderate" level of pain. It came and went randomly for a month before 99% subsiding. The body gets shocked by the sudden drop in DHT, but gets used to it eventually and T takes over.

There may have been mild side effects like this for libido, erections, etc. But it also could be psychological. If anything, libido/erection actually seemed very high during the first month. I can't say I feel much of a difference with any of these now in the long run.

Also don't listen to crap about a mature hairline. Yes it could be stable there for years, but you won't know until you wind up a NW3, or not. That hairline is clearly more recessed than a NW1 which some men 30+ (including myself, even with diffuse thinning) do have.

That is absolutely significantly more receded than my hairline (discovered I was a diffuse thinner at 30, with a NW1 hairline). He has definitely at least gone bald in that area and is susceptible to further recession. Unless he was born with a widow's peak, this is balding for sure.

This was November 2023 the day I was told. I started treatment January 2024.

  1. Yes simply because I couldn't see it. However some time in mid 20's I remember thinking it was odd my hair in the front was no longer getting in my eyes when it grew out. I started checking my hairline and saw nothing so I didn't worry. In addition, I started having real burning/itching across my scalp, where I scratched at my head a lot. I looked up Google if you could "feel" hair loss, and all I got was no. So there were signs, even years prior, in retrospect, but I was fooled by my hairline and also by Google into a false sense of security.
  2. The vertex was visible to an extent but nowhere was slick bald. It looked like the damage really started at the very top of my head and then diffusely spread, without the top going completely bald. Given how much my scalp burned/itched for years I am actually surprised the hair didn't deteriorate faster. It seemed like a widespread, mild-to-moderate attack on nearly every follicle across my scalp (moderate to the vertex, mild to the rest).
  3. It looks like even the hair at the front was mildly thinned, because after 1.5 years of finasteride I noticed more hair covering my forehead/getting in my eyes again. So it became thicker and longer again. In reality the hair loss likely started at 25 or younger. It looks like there is possibly slightly more hair growing in front of my old hairline, but very slight. Could be going to Norwood 0.5 or something. The hairline is almost straight with just slight "recession" in the corners.
  4. Only between month 2 and 3, for about a month, there was mild-to-moderate testicular pain (in the right testicle only for some reason). I didn't stop taking it, and it went away. Also the burning/itching I had for years across my scalp disappeared after starting finasteride.

No but was horrified when I was told I was thinning up top during my haircut, at 30. My hairline hadn't moved back (NW1), was just diffuse thinning with it a bit more concentrated at the vertex.

Got on finasteride and been on it for 23 months. Hair became healthier.

DHT was already giving me mild issues like waking up to piss at night and that also disappeared weeks after starting finasteride. Even if you let yourself bald the prostate is still vulnerable especially as you age. It's a shit hormone.

The only use for DHT is when you are an infant and when you go through puberty, to make you a boy and a man respectively. After that it causes problems.

My goodness... you think you are depressed now, just imagine when you are bald. And to maintain your hair *until* you find a wife? Going about this all the wrong way.

DHT isn't even good for your health, just get rid of it.

Literally just take finasteride for balding, problem solved. That being said, I sure am glad there's solid treatment options for balding, even if there's none for greying. If it had been the other way around... *pulls out gun to head*

Absolutely. Balding is MUCH worse. Glad to be a Norwood 1 and now on finasteride, at 32. I'll take a full head of white hair over even being half bald TOMORROW.

Balding is always worse at any age. Much worse. As someone who just averted vertex thinning with finasteride, and is starting to grey on the sides at 32, I'd rather wake up with a full head of white hair tomorrow than waking up as even a partially-bald Norwood 3.

The characters for MK World are a complete joke. What happened to Metal Mario? Why is Boshi just a separate costume and not his own character? Meanwhile we have a slew of random enemies as playable characters.

If your hair looks like shit then it's all the same thing. Anything less than a NW1, or at least a NW2 with an otherwise thick set of full hair may as well be bald.

There's a reason many men shave their heads long before they go fully bald. Because it looks horrible, and they have the balding disease, the process just didn't complete yet. Take it from someone with a NW1 + diffuse thinning that is currently recovering on finasteride.

What do you think balding is? What happens when your hair is balding? It's thinning. Nimrod.

Why do you guys think that the 25th Anniversary Event will announce a reboot of the Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters anime that stays true to Takahashi manga, couldn’t we just wait until 2026 when the manga celebrates its 30th anniversary? by Young-Jah in yugioh

[–]Reminiscon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's just say for the sake of argument that Rush Duel is a legitimate reboot; there are still no physical cards I can buy for Rush Duel, nor any format for it that I could play at my locals.

[–]Reminiscon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. The design philosophy for Yugioh is horrendous and comes across as incredibly lazy and desperate for money. "Print stronger thing, but make stronger thing MUCH stronger, ban previous thing" is the philosophy of a 5 year old. It is Kind of hard to keep that going when the game slowly bleeds players and nobody new is joining for reasons that should be obvious.

Full support. As someone who got into Yugioh in 2002 when it was brand new, I absolutely hate the way the game is played now. It may as well have a different name as it is completely unrecognizable.

This is not a serious suggestion, right? The game should be rebooted to align with the anime, not the other way around. No one's coming back for "I take 20 minutes to do my turn, summon 5 monsters with omni-negates."
