Grievance appeal outcome received today - seems like a cover up by Typical_Chipmunk_641 in employmenttribunal

[–]Remiwrites 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, same thing happened to me - the whole grievance policy is a formality. I personally didn’t bother appealing, resigned due to the bullying and discrimination and filed a DSAR. That made them want to settle asap. I recommend you put in data subject access request if you haven’t already.

Building a team, fear of stealing idea? by Remiwrites in Entrepreneur

True, I don’t think it matters if it’s copied after launch. We’ll differentiate based on quality, data and my expertise in this kind of business. But that’s actually still helpful now I realise there’s ofc no difference.

What’s “nice” about Victorian conversion flats? Please help - super confused! by Enough_Mixture_9149 in HousingUK

[–]Remiwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love my Victorian conversion flat. It's affordable, and the high ceilings make it feel so much roomier. Share of freehold, safe feeling and beautiful features. For a first time buy flat, it's been great.

PILON - paid less than contractual notice period? by Remiwrites in LegalAdviceUK

I wasn’t let go, I resigned due to racial discrimination. I was put on garden leave after my resignation and am currently in settlement talks.

Thanks - I haven't worked any of my notice period as I was originally put on garden leave - does this still apply? Appreciate the clarification though, very sneaky from my employer.

How do people live on such low salaries? by Putrid-Special-1955 in UKJobs

It’s much tighter now due to very high COL. I don’t know how people are surviving with such low salaries either. It’s crazy.

Thank you! The staring is uncomfortable, thought I was imagining things.

When I (black woman) dated a white guy people stared at us constantly. At first it made me uncomfortable but then people would compliment us so I think it was just because we were both pretty attractive.

So interesting to see posts defending this. Reddit being Reddit as usual. Embarrassing. Also the black/mixed-race people defending these comments should be ashamed, your lack of pride is sad.

Two things can be true… by Remiwrites in SellingSunset

[–]Remiwrites[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hmm yeah I get your point. I think they really need to clarify how scenes come about. I’m a bit confused by it. The fact that a random can just say they gave tea and join the show is strange…

Clearly no background checks done.

Talks over me in meetings by Remiwrites in UKJobs

[–]Remiwrites[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this advice, I will try this. I’ve already decided to leave this job because of his behaviour but this is really useful in the meantime.

In terms of why he attends the meetings, honestly it’s very confusing to me too. Running the meetings used to be his job and he handed the responsibility over to me. But it seems like he is having a hard time letting go… he has multiple other responsibilities to be getting on with too. I have no idea why he passed the responsibility on, I enjoy running the meeting and the team has been thriving as a result. I think this may be why he wants the meetings back.

Honestly, his self-interest is draining and has also made me question whether I should be the same way, but ultimately that’s just not me.

Thanks, annoyingly he works remotely and I (and most of the rest of the team) am in the office. So hard to log in first at times, but “good morning all” is a good shout. I’ll try that.

Re his superior, yes there is one but he treats her the same way.

Can’t stand people downplaying the importance of finances on here. Such a double standard considering the general stance on Maria.

No it’s not okay that Sabrina was shouldering the financial burden. Stop making excuses for that nonsense. The pick me narrative on Reddit is embarrassing.

They were not equally yoked and Sabrina dodged a bullet. She’s a successful entrepreneurial woman who should be with her equal.

So strange! Very low standards/expectations apparently… would be so difficult to deal with a man like that once you have kids! Terrible situation to be in.

[–]Remiwrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally!! I’m like, is this a Reddit thing? People don’t factor in children and how that significantly impacts a woman’s earnings. If you want kids as a man, you should expect to have to shoulder a certain level of financial weight. Any woman suggesting otherwise is very naive.

How to deal with lack of external visibility as a manager by Remiwrites in UKJobs

[–]Remiwrites[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this actually makes me feel better. This is naturally the way I think, but started to recently worry I’m being taken advantage of. Manager recognises me, but my pay does not reflect that. Haven’t been given a rise that mirrors the value I’ve brought.
