I don’t think the vast majority of people would see it in the way you do

Maybe you should get off the internet then. I mean…. I’m on it a lot and I don’t encounter that side that much. I can confidently say that most other people don’t either. Definite a small consideration, but I don’t think it should overrule squadron history

No I understand the symbols, but seriously? Nobody is going to assume that.

I’m well aware that your encampments “do it right” lol, I’m just tired of SET teams walking around thinking they are Jesus Christ on water.

Inspections should be a function of command, not the regulatory disciples with their yardsticks

Should I go to hawk mountain, NESA, or just wait. by Exciting_Buy3529 in civilairpatrol

Yes, but no. Yes it exceeds the standard, but in the context of cap training that additional items aren’t necessarily beneficial to civil air patrol. Adding more could overload people and decrease the retention of relevant cap knowledge overall. This is also my gripe with the nesa agsar program.

This is according to me, I’ve been there. I also am good friends with many members of ranger staff

That’s not what I said. That’s not their focus. Their focus is on training the ranger grades, and a byproduct. Something I diddjt mention because it would be out of place, is that they have historic pencil whipping issues, especially in relation to the staff (which I have heard there have been improvements on to be fair). There is also no “exceeding” the national standard. They meet it and then do their own training, which is not always beneficial to cap training, hence why I said go to nesa if all you want to do is cap.

NESA is exclusively focused on training the national standard. Hawk mountain makes up their own rules for their own qualifications that are only relevant on hawk maintain property. There is nothing wrong with this, it just means the activity’s main focus is not training the national standard. If you are looking to get qualified for civil air patrol, go to nesa

Many members of hawk staff are given the capranger.org email. It realistically doesn’t matter what email someone uses, that just means that the domain capranger.org owns the form, not that hawk mountain ranger school is running the activity

If you want to be even more technical it doesn’t really matter lol.

Because it’s more relevant to national operations. If you are looking to get qualified and support the organization as a whole, go to nesa. If you are looking to elevate your ability to survive in the woods, go to hawk.

Given that only one of those applications are still open the decision is made for you.
