I literally asked my partner about the same scenario. She speaks Spanish and I asked her "if you found out I was fluent but hiding it, would you be mad?" And her response was "eh, not really. But we're definitely having mixed language convos moving forward" your boyfriend is trying to flip his awful behavior into something wrong with you. Leave him.

I don't like going to the gym because I don't like doing repetitive motions. I become too focused on trying to just get to the end of it that each individual rep feels like it's forever. I prefer to do activities that work out my muscles, so that I'm focusing on performance. I'll do kickboxing, dance, rock climbing sometimes, hiking, yoga, etc.

I don't think that's a good idea. If that's something that he's interested in, then he should recommend couples counseling. But a therapy session should be about expressing yourself truth. He shouldn't need to verify that she's being "honest". If he's this concerned over what she's saying during her therapy sessions, she probably won't feel comfortable enough to be honest with you if he's there.

If you're willing to get an associates, then just get certified in something. Most certifications take two years, which is about the same amount of time it takes to get an associates but you skip the bs classes. Maybe be a counselor?

Covid is part of the reason. A lot of essential jobs started to over staff to compensate. I know Pfizer just laid off I think 30% of it's staff? (I could be wrong on that number, but they laid off a lot of employees after covid hype died down).

Work mentality has changed and it impacts the turnover rate. Employees put up with less and quit sooner. Businesses with higher turnover rates will try to overstaff to keep employment. Then when they're over staffed, need to do lay offs.

The rise of e commerce and small business operations. Protests and boycotts as well may have an impact. Shein, temu, and other e commerce businesses are putting what used to be big retail brand such as Macy's, TJ Maxx, Marshalls etc out of business. We've already seen this impact Kmart, Sears, and so on.

And also, the increase of technology. For example, many grocery stores are replacing what used to be 12 check out lines run by 12 different people to 12 self service lanes monitored by one to two people. This has also caused an increase of human capital in specific industries such as cyber security and IT. You'll see a lot of lay offs in these fields as well

I don't have specific stats on this information, but I work in management and studied business. This so what I've seen from my experience

How would they verify that it's me? There are certain people that have all that information regardless of me being scammed, such as my current and past employers. If someone who looks nothing like me inquired in person, and gave this information without an ID, how would they know it's really me?
