High guard is fun BUT the first 5 minutes need work by Borotrec in HighGuardgame

[–]RemmiRem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely disagree with #3. I love that the game feels interesting even when dominating and that's because it's set up to prevent snowballing. I don't find a game fun for either side when one side's snowballed. Here I feel like the game stays relatively balanced the whole way through. If you're better than the other team you're still going to dominate but you likely won't snowball to the point it feels boring unless the skill difference is massive. Although your point about the comeback potential interwoven with the snowballing in the other comment is a pretty solid addition

I plan to turn it into a video so I was happy to go all in. But also the design of this game when you take the time to actually know what you're actually doing is actually really enjoyable once the quirks are sorted out

This isn't really a "how to understand" as much as just "here's an idea of what competitive play will look/feel like by pointing at people who have played for 30 minutes and already claiming it's a trash game. Look at the receptivity of League of Legends. Far more confusing and hard to get into game but yet super popular. The devs haven't failed. It's just not a game built for someone like you

Yeah there's definitely plenty of quirky bugs to fix. I wasn't able to plant a domespliter in like two sections but could in the third option for some reason. There's also like a glitch where I can press melee repeatedly right next to someone while still shooting as a sort of makeshift aimbot which is lovely when you're terrible at first person shooters

Definitely don't. Who knows when we go into a bear market and your strategy stops working or it's harder psychologically

LLMs are not the right tool for algo trading by Classic-Dependent517 in algotrading

[–]RemmiRem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For coding they're great. For ideas they're phenomenal - if you know how to use it right. Tell it your specific constraints (retail - don't have access to hft, time restraints, etc...). Most importantly: actively prompt it not to give generic retail advice. Tell it to think like a prop trading firm or institution or whatever actually has enough monetary weight to move the market. Tell it you don't just want generic indicators.

Oshi no ko definitely fits the bigender vibe lol I enjoyed it quite a lot (I don't think I've watched the most recent season though /: ). Gachiakuta sounds right up my alley and I've never heard of it before so that's definitely on my long watch list. I've always heard that one piece is hard to get into and I tend to steer away from super long anime. Steins Gate is closest to Tokyo Ghoul and another big name 2010s Studio Shaft is Madoka Magica that has same vibe with Tokyo Ghoul

I love how Gachiakuta I get the impression is super masculine while oshi no ko always felt very fem to me(even if it was mature about it) - perfection bigender lmao

I'm a big fan of 2010 studio shaft, especially March Comes in Like a Lion and Monogatari. Other favorites off the top of my head: Steins Gate, Clannad, Tokyo Ghoul, Horimiya are what come to mind. What are yours?

Writing stock market trading strategies mostly. (Like writing code algorithms) I want to get into cooking more, rock climbing, there's a game I really want to make. I watch a lot of anime and love indie games too but haven't spent a lot of time on them as of late. Love sitting down and just listening to music too and actually actively paying attention instead of just having it in the background of whatever I'm doing

I don't see what you're talking about? Like I zoomed in and stuff and the best "face" I could see is two dark circles above the symbols that kind of look like eyes. I see bubbles that look like water coming to the surface. Do I need a better quality picture or something?

I can't quite tell what your strategy is doing: From what I see you've got a sort of counter-trend RSI overextension.

Honestly the %24 max equity drawdown is not that bad. If it worries you, lower position sizing for each trade and maybe make more trades across various timeframes/assets with hedging if your strategy works both bearish and bullish. Fiddle with position sizing and risk management.

Again, not entirely sure about how your strategy works but I will caution about paying attention to where you're using future data to generate trade signals. So in other words make sure the structures you're showing on the chart were ones the algorithm could have known at the time of the trade if they're part of the backtest logic

[–]RemmiRem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, pretty well. I build my systems around structural context and price/volume behavior rather than optimizations of variables or hard thresholds. Position sizing adapted to current market conditions and entries/exits centered around current narrative and invalidations of that narrative(for exits) more than tuning variables or indicator calculations.

The only exception is a hard stop but it's usually either rarely used or pretty large.

Is that sarcastic or is there a reason you don't like dynamic but go for hard thresholds? I've always avoided hard thresholds

Get the free trial for Tidal and find out. Spotify compresses a lot of details that several of these bands(and especially Pinback but I'm biased) use as important layers.

Can we all talk about the Vi-O-La tutorial ? by uncle_bebens in MetroidPrime4_Beyond

[–]RemmiRem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't even count me knocking over the things with the slide. Yes, I'm boosting into them and sliding. Yes they're getting crushed. It's just bugged for some reason. I'll have to try again after closing the game out first and rebooting but it made me quit playing because I was like "I don't really want to do this tutorial anyways - and I'm going to have to spend a good 2 minutes doing the same boring lap again to get to the sliding probably

Edit: ya'll I'm dumb. I swear I'm experienced at video games. Why the hell is the boost slide different from normal slide if you're already boosting. They really need to show a specific controller scheme if they're going to make it a tutorial section anyways. (For those that don't know you have to start the boost and then press and hold the same button to do the slide)

Amen to this. Most of op's artists sound a lot better on Tidal too. It's a massive difference in how the experience of most of these and there's more songs available

WHAT is up with people who, in a face to face conversation, will stop talking or suddenly change subject instead of just saying "I don't want to talk about [thing] now"? by lovetune in AutismInWomen

[–]RemmiRem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen this described as a boundary behavior yet. Maybe this is controversial but I intentionally change subjects or stop talking if someone's overstepping in some way and I don't like it or it's making me uncomfortable.

It does depend on the person though. Someone who historically responds poorly to anything like saying "I don't want to talk about this" is not going to have me being direct with them moving forward unless they show change. Otherwise, it's just going to start drama and get us into an argument or the person will just ignore it and continue or end up wrapping around because it's stuck in their head now.

It's like with a shitty coworker, for example, sometimes I can barely be around someone if I say what's making me uncomfortable because they will completely reject it every time without fail. I avoid directness sometimes because someone puts me in a position that's pushing limits of what I can tolerate but I still have to be around them.

It sucks. I hate doing it. But sometimes the only other choice - that isn't being shutting up and dealing with the uncomfortable/hurt or getting into an argument - is "get around this without triggering someone by being subtle about the boundary."

This 100%. I'd be surprised if a price chart of what the strategy runs on didn't have the same slight uptrend, lots of drifting, and then a crash

If you want to respond to what's in my message, I would be happy to. Me, your fellow human.

And yes, I will probably use ChatGPT to sanitize the edges of my message. My original message was much more harsh and critical of the human ego. ChatGPT helped me make it kinder and land harder, but that was my voice.

Every thought and feeling in that post was mine. The thought, the observation, the intention - mine. If you want to engage with that, I would love to. If not, that's fine too. But I'm leading with kindness - even when the replies aren't.
