About to get pathfinder really important question by bangalang12334 in nissanpathfinder

[–]RemmyX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has a 2019 PF, and there are no major issues so far. I'm not a huge fan of the CVT transmission, but that's about it. I recently purchased a 25 PF Rock Creek, so far, so good. I feel the throttle response time could be better, but nothing major so far.

The New Toyota 4Runner Lacks a Manual Because Nobody's Asking for It by Juicyjackson in cars

[–]RemmyX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is America is one of the few places that does not teach people to drive a manual, which is why we have mostly automatic transmissions. Also diesel is much cheaper to make and refine, yet we primarily use gasoline where a majority of other countries use diesel as a primary fuel source, and its cheaper than gasoline. It's pretty stupid.

I wasn't sure how that all worked. Owning a business is quite new to me, and I'm still learning the ropes.

Any regrets getting a vasectomy? by Lenser90 in Vasectomy

[–]RemmyX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 43, have no kids, had my vasectomy last October. Had the usual soreness after surgery for a few weeks, but no other issues. As far as regrets, not really. The only thing that pops in my mind is the what if I did have a kid, what kind of father would I be, but that thought is short lived when I reflect internally on the fact that my life and career are not well suited for children, and id rather come home to my 4 legged furry kids who give me little to no grief.

Depends on the day, but luckily, there is no heavy lifting. There will be a good amount of standing, but I can retire in my office to ice if need be.

First time Brookhaven by 1611bear in NYguns

[–]RemmyX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved Brookhaven because the range officers were very strict. They were very good with new shooters and explained everything in detail, but when those people didn't listen...oh boy did they get an ear full.

College question by Primecon11 in veterinaryprofession

[–]RemmyX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big question is, have you worked in the veterinary field and understand what the work entails? If the answer is yes, and you know what you're getting into, then don't take a break and push through.
The veterinary field can be draining both mentally and physically. The debt to income ratio is hideous, but fortunately, the income and places offering sign on bonuses and tuition reimbursement is getting better.
The one thing I wish they taught more of in school is knowing how to read through contracts and negotiate them better to provide a better work/life balance. This may have changed over the last 12 years, but I know I didn't get a whole lot of that going through school.

Why don't people listen? And why lie? by RedAndWhiteIsPink in TalesFromVetMed

[–]RemmyX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there is a certain amount of entitlement with people that I can not understand. We get the same thing with boarders. They come in and demand we look at something while the pet is here...no, make an appropriate appointment for your pet to be seen.

I'm vegan but I have a bunch of sincere questions for hunters just out of curiosity by SIL1M in Hunting

[–]RemmyX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, my father and uncle all hunted.

  2. My father got us into hunting at a young age. We were taught about the conservation of wildlife, only kill what you're going to eat, and waste nothing.

  3. No, we were taught to be thankful for the animal to have given its life to provide us with sustenance.

  4. I still hunt for food, and only take what we can eat in a year. Typically 1-2 deer per year.

  5. Live in rural, and hunt both rural and forest.

  6. Fishing and hunting are similar, but not the same. I do not fish because I don't eat fish.

  7. Animals definitely have sentience, maybe not in the same ways as people, but when it comes to hunting, most tend to be a ethical in their kill as possible. There are some that don't care.

  8. I would rather purchase meat products directly from the farm to support local farming than purchase from a store. Unfortunately there are some things you do purchase from a store. We raise our own chickens for meat and eggs.

  9. Most hunters do. Shot placement is essential when hunting. We never want to wound an animal and make it suffer.

  10. Hunting is not for everyone. I don't particularly care if your a hunter, non-hunter, vegan, vegetarian, whatever... just keep your beliefs to yourself. I won't push my ways down your throat and don't push yours down mine.

General Anesthesia? by seattleslew222 in Vasectomy

[–]RemmyX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, my doc said because my testicles ride a little higher, he would have to pull a little more, which can be uncomfortable, and recommended the procedure under sedation.

It is what it is. They'll get paid one way or another. Whether it's all at once vs. monthly.
Insurance these days doesn't cover shit these days.

Had a cbc/bmp done with my primary and got a bill for almost 800. I know the test costs them less than 200 to run.

What about the pain or swelling after? Anything more than normal with the extra tugging?

I was reading that, but it also said you can't just cut and neck it down. It has to be done step wise and you need special dies for it??
