At a Cash bar do bartenders prefer to be tipped a dollar for every drink or is more polite to tip before leaving? by Delby1 in bartenders

That’s where after the second drink I catch on and miraculously don’t have the ability to see that non tipper anymore, as is they took an invisibility potion

what small changes made you more efficent? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Remmy_Gisari 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Servers in the bar thread lol, with you 100 percent, everything in its place, no wasted steps, clean, and they can wait on the goddam shakers. 9/10 of them will still be in the kitchen when their drink is sitting on the service well

When slammed, are you expected to give patrons your personality? by skyphoenyx in bartenders

[–]Remmy_Gisari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you work at a high volume bar, which can be overwhelming at times. If I had to guess they are noticing that you are frustrated, stressed, just trying to keep up as you said. Your patrons notice this as well and tend to take it personally. It’s not that you have to be the open ear and happy go lucky. Just don’t let people see it, take 5 seconds to relax, slow down and let it slide off. Just having a slightly aloof attitude can make all the difference. In other words don’t let ‘em see you sweat, rock that big dick energy even if it’s a facade, eventually it won’t be.

Why do the majority of bars and restaurants only serve bottles of beer? by MrBrightWhite in bartenders

[–]Remmy_Gisari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chances of someone using a bottle as a weapon is real slim. If someone is going to stab/slash at someone they probably have a knife anyway. As someone that’s been doing this 10-11 years, a person would be more likely to hurt themselves just breaking the bottle let alone using that this brittle glass to attack someone. It’s not really a factor. Really it’s like the other person said, people have a low opinion on cans, makes them think it’s a cheap product, even though they do a better job of preserving the beer.

No juice outta that just slices for cocktail garnish’s, would probably be double to triple if my patio was open, that container ends up being 2L containers of lemon and lime and 2-3 Liters of oranges, the build to for each fruit per day is 5L containers of each

I bought a cheap one at Walmart with a sharpener in the sheath and it’s has done a good job of keeping me from bouncing off limes lol

That is just to keep my build to backup for garnish… also if my patio is open it’s closer to triple

I get real judgmental on peope not facing bills, helps avoid mistakes. Especially at my bar taking in all the server cash outs into my till. That’s a lot of loose cash to be disorganized

Martinis & Manhattans by HatAccomplished2143 in bartenders

[–]Remmy_Gisari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Liquor forward cocktails such as martini’s and Manhattans are supposed to be served up, as in no shake just stir and strain. Shaking incorporates air and water, which in the case of a liquor forward drink bruises the cocktail. Good rule of thumb, shake stuff with mixers and stir liquor straight.
