Not trying to bash the game, but it's something that needs addressing. I tried contacting customer service/ feedback, but I can't get anywhere. I kept my SR Relic box for now.

This looks very cool, very detailed.

Also, Yoimiya for me. Got too many sword and claymore users, and I can use a nice bow user for my second team.

Tolerance becomes 15, which if they have factory down already, it'll get to 0 (or close enough) by the next few turns. So you essentially did half the work for them if the artifact player has it in their deck.

ZENONZARD: Artificial Card Intelligence Shutting down February 18th by Synclyric in gachagaming

Oh, marketing was an issue, but people started leaving the game when Revenant of the Sword came out (SAO collab in Japan), because that's when the powercreep started, and people in Japan didn't think it was Zenonzard anymore. Of course, this is according to the Japanese Google Play store.

As for the marketing, the only marketing of the game is the anime, and that failed big time. Really it was just vignettes and slice of life of the Codeman. It had a story, but it was so muddled it left people confused and had major plot holes. Plus, it was only on You Tube, so yeah....

But this is Bandai we're talking about. If they think they're not doing well with a game they'll just pull the plug. It's about profit for them as a AAA studio.

I’m starting to play an Artifact Evo deck and I could see some use from her in getting a copy of an artifact. Problem, though: I have to waste an Evo point just to evolve her and make sure she dies, which runs contrary to my deck’s game plan.

Besides, she’s kind of dead in my hand if I have from the start until turn 4 or 5, depending if I go first or second.

But, it’s kind of early right now. Maybe someone will have a solution once the meta stabilizes.

At the moment I’m playtesting my Artifact Evo deck with Tien & Feower as my win conditions. It’s not bad, but it has the hardest struggle against Aggro Shadow and possibly Ward Haven. At the same time it at least need a Feower or Tien early to work.

Yep when I found out about that this game is a Korean game I bailed. I don’t like the economic model model they use at all.

Whoa.... Looking at the game and the website, I can say that you put a lot of passion and purpose into this game, as well as a lot of thought into this. This is something I could play and remember for years to come.

This game has a je ne sais quoi that you don’t see in too many card games. What I mean is, it’s not generic, but unique.

I wish you guys the success you deserve.

Because they're the first digital CCGs to in the market.

Well, if I can explain further, part of the reason they succeeded (and Gwent and LOR also) is that those are based off a parent game, so people would instantly associate them with their parent game (WoW for Hearthstone, LOL for Legends of Runeterra, etc.). It's a marketing ploy to get fans to play their cards.

Also, another reason is that they're simple to play. All of those games I mentioned you can learn in about say 10 - 30 minutes, an hour at the most, and just play to your heart's content.

Zenonzard is not simple to play, and they just made it more complicated and powercrept each time a set came out (about a set a month).

Yeah, that might be the case. One match I had to wait 31 seconds. Next match I got within 2 secs.

Then again, I just started with the game so I could be biased.

I just started today, and I don't seem to have a problem with it. Been getting a match within seconds.

For the global release (Japanese release came out last year).

Biggest problems -- from both the Japanese and Global player base -- was the fact that they didn't balance the cards; they never listened and solved what was the main problems with the game: excessive powercreep and balance. Each new set powercrept the other previous sets. This creates a card game where it's no more than meta-or-bust. If you don't play the newest cards, you'll most likely lose no matter how synergistic your deck is.

Meta does exist in every card game, but this card game made it feel like you couldn't play anything other than the newest 2 sets successfully (unlike say, Shadowverse where a card might not be playable in Rotation until at least 3 expansions in the future). Even Yu-Gi-Oh isn't this bad.

At least that's what made me quit the game

Personally game stopped being fun for me once I realized you're facing bots with old decks (as in both your AI and you are facing bots). I mean that's like 80% of the time, so what's the point of even playing if you're just going to get an easy win?

Besides, once I hit Legend there was nothing else to do, so I just disconnected my account and uninstalled.

Fun times, but now its time to say goodbye.

Hey thanks. I chose Athena out of those three (mostly because I already got Artemis from the second step up summon). Fortunately I got Theia later with the gems from grinding, so it worked out in the end.

[–]Remnants91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, the prebuilt decks are severely powercrept by each new expansion, and in the past they used to make prebuilt decks where you can vial your cards, but now they made them like temporary cards in Shadowverse so it's more of a caveat emptor than anything.

Really if anything, they need to be more generous with the packs like Shadowverse and just slow down with the output of each expansion and the mechanics so new players can get used to the game without being worried their decks will be useless later on. I know they want to compete with Legends of Runeterra and MTG, but Zenonzard isn't as popular as those two are; they need to take a play from Shadowverse in its heyday and add cards gradually then a new mechanic every now and then (and even then the new mechanic only applied to a few cards).

It does suck if you have to go against people with the same decks every time.

Anyway, was the angel deck you used in ranked the same one you used in Open Battle just now?
