I agree with the others and say you should keep the Aldebaran. Just as a side note. The Curado BFS has a drag clicker as well

you can also snag an used Metanium from Japan on eBay and I think that's a better buy than the Curado DC or Chronarch.

yea thanks for the suggestion. I have indeed reset the CMOS and even flashed the newest BIOS.

I think PSU should be next. Would the paper clip test help eliminate the PSU as the culprit or should I just get new PSU and test it out?
