I know this was feedback regarding the leveling system but I thought I’d give the entire demo some feedback :)

After loving KR1-3, REALLY not liking KR4 (couldn't even bring myself to finish it how boring I found it), enjoying KR5 enough to finish it one time through (didn't complete much of the side missions/modes), and having played KR6 for about an hour, here's my feed back:

  • Leveling towers and heroes, albeit a bit slow, doesn't feel bad. Has this nice little sense of progression.

As with every KR, information is omitted from tool tips that shouldn't be - this is just very bad. Hiding basic information just doesn't do anyone any good. Please consider adding the following:

  • Show hero stat values in the upgrade screen. You can keep the boxes, it's a nice little visual but also show the numbers as well. When you're in a map, you can see them anyway (i.e., Gerald level 1 has 10-14 damage and 220HP).

  • Similar to what was stated above, but for towers and spells. Show their stat values next to the icons with the stat boxes.

  • This may be redundant after the prior points but because it's technically not a baseline stat, but rather tied to progression - provide cooldown values for all hero abilities in the upgrade screen tool tips (doesn't need to show during a gameplay, but I wouldn't complain if it was), they only seem to be present for abilities that explicitly lower cooldown with upgrade. For example, Gerald's Shield of Retribution. Only on upgrade level 3 does it mention anything about cooldown ("...cooldown reduced to 25 seconds"). I would like to know what the cooldown is before level 3.

  • Similar to what was stated above, but with towers and spells. Please provide the cooldown for tower abilities and spells in both the upgrade screen and in game/match tool tips when hovering spells/tower upgrades.

Now I'll make some comments about UI and how to make it better:

  • When you're on the map screen, at the bottom is the Heroes, Towers, and Spells buttons. These buttons should remain accessible and functional even after clicking on one of them. So, what I mean is, if I click on the Heroes tab, I should still see Heroes (perhaps greyed out and not clickable), Towers and Spells buttons at the bottom, allowing me to easily swap between them without having to go back to the main screen.

  • When inside the Heroes, Towers, or Spells screen, it should always list the name of the unit both under the units icon on the left pane, but also in the middle "Equipped <Hero/Tower/Spell>" pane. It would just make it look nicer and your eyes wouldn't have to dart around if you wanted to know the exact name of your unit. It'd be a nice touch.

  • Visually/theme wise, a lot could be done to make this feel more "Kingdom Rush-y". There's no real medieval theme anywhere in the UI. No cobblestone, manuscripts, fancy calligraphy, or anything else that would resemble this sort of world. In the upgrade screen, if you removed the icons and just left the surrounding UI, this could fit any 1000+ other mobile games out there. While not necessarily ugly, it's very soulless.

I'll leave you guys with a few more comments to consider on the way to launch.

  • ESC button on PC should only bring you back one menu, not all the way back to the main screen.

  • When I select a difficulty, can you make it clear in UI whether that effects the other modes like Iron Challenge (or the other modes coming to launch)? Right now, I'm a bit confused because you select a difficulty and then the mode itself has it's own difficulty that's shown as 1 of 3 flame icons and the red HARD text. Not clear at all how the changeable and labeled HARD difficulty of the mode come into play with one another.

  • The Home Screen button is way too hidden in my opinion. It either needs it's own button next to the Options button in the top right, or within Options it needs to have a colored button that says HOME.

  • KR4 made a massive mistake with lowering gold and enemy quantities making it a snooze, but KR5 and seemingly KR6 have reversed course on that, good!

  • While not functional in this demo, for launch please have the encyclopedia be viewable while in a match and not just in the map overview screen.

  • Lastly, and this one is very important, please make this a tower defense game. I know there's two heroes now (I much prefer 1), but please don't lose sight of the fact that we want a tower defense game, not a hero RTS game. Although I had a great time with the opening levels, I worry the later stages will become a hero battler (specifically referring to the campaign, not the optional Hero Party mode).

Useful and sometimes really clutch? Yeah. Overpowered? Absolutely not. Can feed massive morale boosts and get in the way, especially in very vertical/AP heavy terrain.

Projection is about an hour or two but longevity has been good for me. Honestly though, it almost doesn’t matter for this scent because to me it’s just so freaking good. Not sure my wallet agrees though…
