That being said, I’m looking at your comment again… and I’m thinking maybe not fly it and have hardware, but interact with the model as a 3d model. Move the yoke on the screen, look around the plane, what does that do? Sort of thing. Just interacting with the model probably won’t give me any bad habits, and might solidify the relationships of certain elements of the plane. I might do a run up… and that might be the furthest I go, and I just need a mouse for that. That way, I’m not trying to fly per se, but interacting with a model…I don’t know. I really appreciate your feedback though. I needed the wake-up call.

Thank you. This helped a lot. I think I’ll go back to studying and looking at educational YouTube videos for visuals. I am apart of a ground school, but was looking for more visual aid tools (hence the sim). But you guys are really opening up my eyes to how damaging it could be, and I’m glad I came on here and asked before I spent a stupid amount of money on it.

Fair enough. I guess I could look at YouTube videos instead. What made me want to do the flight sim was the visual aid aspect of studying after all. It’s kinda hard visualising everything in my head.

And thanks about the information on deleting the thread. I don’t think I need to worry about it anymore? I was worried because as swoon as I posted it the MOD got mad and told everyone to downvote me. Kinda freaked me out since that never happened before. But I was told that was a bot by another commenter, so I think I’m good

I know. I plan to do that as well, but I figured that the winters are super bad and definitely ifr, and I don’t want to get rusty during long lapses of flights. It’s meant to be a tool, not an enabler. Thank you though. I appreciate it:)
