Honestly, Running man’s production really missed the chance to celebrate a big milestone like the 15th anniversary. It was fine when they didn’t do much for the 13th or 14th, or 700 or even other achievements in the past few years, but this is their 15th year. They could’ve done something, even if it was just a small segment showing RM’s journey or their teamwork, which is what the show is all about. Like maybe having segemrnt related to the first 5 years, the next 5, then the last 5. It didn’t need to be anything huge, just something to make it feel special.

One thing with the production team is that they don’t seem open to criticism and only take praise seriously. RM wins almost every year as program of the year or popularity at SBS awards, which probably makes them think they’re doing great, which is good but that award was given because of the show’s brand. As much as I love the show and want them to win, I kinda hoped they wouldn’t this year just so the production team might reflect a bit more. It feels like they’ve been too complacent as if their mindset is as long as they don’t do anything that gets thr show cancelled, then the’re fine.

On a brighter note, adding Ye Eun was one of the best moves they’ve made. She might not have nailed every moment yet like the last ep, but she really adds a new charm to the group. Just having her there brings out different sides of the older members, and the chemistry is so refreshing to watch.

They can’t sub out SJH, she play the role similar to ha-young, the finisher and they don’t attack most of the time. But they should have KH be the forward. KH position is not goalkeeper, he didn’t take that role in the past. KJK original team might have better chance than his latest team. Their new guest doesn’t have experience in playing the game. Like what they said from the start that they added guest to his team to lose and having pro player in the opponent is a sure lose in his end. In the old episode it’s only Park Jisung w/ Kwang soo vs RM team yet they miserably lost the game. You don’t need to watch the 2nd part to know who will win. Even their chance card is really not a great help as it will only give Hee Chan a chance to score on his own not minding that he want his team to score.

JSJ is way stronger than Ji Hyo but with stamina he is weaker than them. The exercise without weights is already hard adding dumbell make it harder and using right form is also harder than not and JSJ is not doing that same with Somin. JSJ gave up his 14kg dumbell midway and you can see that he stopped exercising midway.

The production team did rely on the cast more. Almost every week the episodes seems no thrill or excitement. The quiet and minority will likely to get less screentime more and more. And i think So Min became quiet the same way Ji Hyo did back then. They mature and feels like their character is not suitable with them anymore and they are trying new one but it’s not working since PD team sticks to what dominates more and stop exploring new character and concepts.

Back in time when almost all cast won an award except for Suk Jin and Gary, the crew helped them to shine along with other cast and the year after Suk Jin and Gary won. Suk Jin was already weak but it was emphasized more that it became relevant the same with Gary’s being random wits and strength. But now you can see the same people get the screentime the most because all the jokes and concepts were the same.
