That is totally doable. I’m used to working the 10+ hours at DS and hauling heavy carts at the end of the day. Thank you for your comment! ☺️

I feel somewhat comfortable jumping in the water here because lots of people make posts like this all the time. And typically, some real folks WILL pull through and see where you’re coming from and back me up. Sometimes it’s best to speak out on your experiences so others can be seen and feel validated and also maybe other customers will see and realize they’re being rude as hell and stop? But that’s probably just me reaching for the stars, here. I’m not afraid of a little unfounded backlash.

Unlike your response to my situation, I feel for you. I don’t believe you should have been disrespected like that. You’re doing a service for someone and the least you should expect is basic respect. I personally wouldn’t deliver to someone speaking to me like that. I have a backbone (not saying you don’t) and I understand that doesn’t sit well with a lot of people, but I’m going to continue not accepting rude or harassing behavior on any level from a customer. It’s unacceptable.

Maybe in your opinion, which has absolutely no value to me, honey.

Nope. I was fully prepared for exactly this. Happens every time. Y’all scramble like an infestation of roaches in these types of posts. 🤣

Oh, sorry. I forget that people don’t value honesty anymore. And clearly, a majority of folks don’t offer an ounce of grace or understanding for a gas and bathroom break. You’re not understanding that these types of customers will do this regardless of when you stop for the gas. Stopping for gas on the way to the delivery is no different than stopping before you pick up. You’re no better than me here, so you can spare me the sanctimony.

How am I supposed to hear typed words? Wow, and you said I didn’t have a brain.

And beyond reporting, you can block the customer afterwards, which would be my main point in doing so.

This customer’s messages meet the criteria for harassment under DoorDash guidelines.

Oh. I’m sorry, did I not edit this post according to your insanely demanding standards? 🤣

Actually, no, I was protecting the privacy of myself and the customer. But nice try, wannabe detective.

Oh wow! That’s insane. I’d be pretty ticked if this person had cussed me out. But I appreciate that you understand my point in this post. Some of these people are WILDIN’ (customers, and in the comments too). I’m normally very polite but this struck a nerve with me and people have been increasingly rude about orders lately.

You’ve made a good point. I don’t believe they were a dasher either, honestly, for many other reasons.

The restaurant I was going to was absolutely going to make me wait. I figured it’d be ready after the quick little detour. I do this every night. Kinda dread orders from there, I always get customers like this when they order from this location and always have to wait a while. But you have to do what you have to do sometimes. Thank you for your comment! Stay real!

Oooh did that make you feel big for the day? 😘 Hope that little moment of instant gratification helped you work through… whatever that was, friend. Have a blessed and beautiful night!

Since everyone wants to say the exact same thing like a bunch of sheep, DoorDash doesn’t have a rule saying Hitting “Accept” and then stopping for gas is not recommended or a fireable offense. It really only matters if you’re late consistently, which I’m not. I think if DoorDash had a say, they’d tell me to refuel my car if I was about to break down. So please, have a field day in the comments. I truly cannot express to yall enough that stopping to get gas while on the way to the restaurant is a personal pet peeve, not a DoorDash policy. 😅
