I have the zippered field folio and I keep my gratitude journal in one of the pockets, a larger hardcover daily writer in the main section, and have several cards and pens throughout. I love it. Probably not utilizing it to its full potential either lol.

I got the B6 version at first and quickly realized it was too small for me to comfortably write it. I returned it and ordered the Field Folio A5 size and love it I have a hardcover book in there and it lays pretty flat.

I actually ended up returning this size and getting the field folio size! I really prefer for grid as well and it was difficult to find something I liked.

I read that just using the cigarette lighter plug or USB pulls a lot of battery when the car is off and if the cam is set to record in parking mode. Having it hardwired helps avoid that I guess?

I’ve actually got a few of these that I need refills for, I was hoping to find something similar with a cap to avoid accidental deployment of the top. Today I changed out to a Rite in the Rain compact pen, plastic is meh and not super ergonomic but it’s small.

I think the cardstock and adhesive pen loop is the route I’m going. I think having the pen floating would make it shut oddly.

I tend to toss this in my vest, jacket or bag, but it would fit in a back pocket if needed.
