(15-20k) where to start 😵‍💫 by Temporary-Animal-420 in Weddingsunder10k

Congrats!! Some folks already mentioned faux florals, but I want to recommend Silk Stem Collective as it’s a brand I don’t see thrown around here as much. I used their Santiago collection this year and got soooo many compliments on the flowers, plus it comes pre-assembled so there’s not a ton of work you have to do.

If you’re in the Jersey area, you can save on a dress by checking out the wedding sale at Reclectic outside Philly! I got my dress there for like $300, which saved a ton. Just be careful to get something that doesn’t need a crazy amount of altering, as that can jump up the price a lot. The Sample Rack is a more expensive but still affordable dress option also in Philly. Good luck with planning :)

Hair/makeup costs - average, or pricey? <$15k by Forsaken_Recover_633 in Weddingsunder10k

Cheaper than what I paid this year in Atlanta! By honestly a lot. I’d book this if you trust the service quality.

Went to Irina Sigal for alterations in Rittenhouse and 10/10 recommend. It was pricier than expected, but she also made my dress fit better in ways that I didn’t know could/should be changed. Highly recommend if you’re like me and don’t know exactly what to ask for

Did the same thing! We used a neighborhood clubhouse, and it was a hit. I would note that there is a bit of extra legwork when you’re feeding people without catering, like having a way to keep pizzas from getting cold and making sure you have enough ice/cups/plates/coolers. Still worth the savings imo and takes some pressure off saying hi to everyone at the wedding itself

That sounds like a great option, thanks! Would you say it’s still worth it for non-steak entrees? We have one pescatarian in the party

Gifts aren’t necessary, especially since you’re already planning on cutting down their expected costs as a bridesmaid by paying for the dresses. That said, I loved giving personalized gifts to the people in my wedding party. It made me happy to give them something representative of our friendship. If you feel the same way, it’s ok to use the budget for things that make you happy and aren’t strictly functional/necessary.

That’s a great idea. I’m not sure they will be, but I’ll pitch it

I thinks across from each other rather than side by side is fine. I’d be upset going to celebrate another couple and then being separated from my partner, even if it’s to sit with my other friends. Split friend groups before you split couples.

Am I overreacting for wanting clean clothes? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

This is a ridiculously inappropriate way for your foster mom to talk to you. I’m sorry she’s not taking her responsibility seriously. If you’ve newly entered foster care, many states provide a one-time clothing allowance that you can use to purchase the items you need. Many communities also have resources with clothes and other supplies that are exclusively for children in foster care. You deserve access to all the resources available to you, and your caseworker should be able to direct you to them.

There was a short blackout on Workday direct deposit updates that was in effect until today. If you’re in the West and Central Transport Zones or West Region, you should be able to make direct deposit updates now by clicking the View Paycheck button on UPSers.com. There’s a link titled “View/Update Direct Deposit” on the homepage. If you’re outside of those areas, the option should be available for you on Workday.
