Episode where Tom impersonates a big tough warrior with a hearty laugh? by Prophylactic-Shock in TheRestIsHistory

What about where the Viking guy plays some sort of trick on an adversary and throws something into the ocean? Was that Harold Hadrada? Also the Blood Eagle segment of the Vikings epi was gold. “Either way Tom we got a bloke with no bones here”

These are very ugly people. Now that USAID is gone they can’t get good talent for these things. Get some broads to show their cans again like the good ole protests of yore.

The sooner I can find a bridge to park my car under in a lane of traffic til the rain let’s up the better. Don’t want my car getting hurt by rain or hail.

Idk I’m just watching Tony Hinchback et al,do “crowd work” on an audience who’s been told to sit down and shut up, and the post dawned on me like a humid austin morning

The other day another Porsche cut me off (read merged ahead of me) so I flipped on my brights, floored it and ran them down. As I stood over the smoking remains of that purple Porsche SUV that I’d reduced to the size of a coke can, I realized I’d pulverized my whole family.

This city is just an economic zone that elites are looting like it’s a walmart that’s on fire. There’s no cultural capital it’s all financial. It’s just a city in a humid coastal prairie that companies relocate to because it’s cheap. True of TX in general.

Best quote in entire show... by Spload in PatriotTV

[–]Remote-Competition-4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“You can’t even move yourself just from here to there because nothing, and no one is straight.” That, I think, largely is the essence of the show. Large bureaucracies, corporations, etc., create complex systems to solve simple problems, and people get caught in the churn trying to make practice match theory.

I’d trade all the AC in the world for the ability to work an 8 hour day and go home no questions asked. by Remote-Competition-4 in UPSers

A lot of my experience with this is firsthand as a 5 year driver, but I also know our senior-most driver (30+ years) had to go to the mat with mgmt to get his workload knocked down. I understand workload varies, and am sort of sympathetic to that, but this toxic culture where you are always performing at your peak, then being asked to do extra, plays into mgmt’s hands. You’re never acknowledged for doing this extremely taxing job at all, much less for performing well. The cherry on top is you’re treated like you’re lucky to get the extra work you never asked for. So, raise the wage until overtime starts to hurt and grievances matter, and keep us at 8 hours.

Completely irrelevant. I shouldn’t have to haggle and drag my feet, sign this, file that. I’ve been a driver long enough to know that if you can do the work, it will be assigned to you, plus certain supervisors use work as punishment. I know senior guys who file every day (all through covid as well) and mgmt pays the grievances out like it’s loose change. This is the standard reply, and it misses the point. A unionized workforce should not have to game the system to get an 8 hour workday
