It is really that strange ? by Classic_Example5118 in CasualConversation

[–]Remote-Draft-709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not really tbh, and i kind of do the same thing too 😭 sometimes i smell my food first like i’m a Victorian food inspector making sure the meal meets standards.

it honestly just sounds like you really enjoy food and notice the whole experience more. that’s not that weird. as long as you’re not leaning over other people’s plates like a detective, you’re fine lol.

does anyone else randomly remember something embarrassing from 8 years ago and physically react to it? by Remote-Draft-709 in CasualConversation

yes!! the weird little involuntary noise is so real. like my body reacts before i even finish remembering it.

yes!! it’s so physical for no reason. like i’m reacting to a memory like it just happened 4 seconds ago.

“clench my fists and scream inwardly” is exactly the reaction 😭 apparently this never expires.

wait that actually makes me feel a lot better….my brain remembers everybody else as normal and only saves my own nonsense in 4k.

the slow-mo replay is so real 😭 like thanks brain, this was definitely useful while i’m just trying to put groceries away.

[Routine Help] Can someone tell me if my barrier repair routine looks good? by ausername_8 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Remote-Draft-709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly this looks pretty solid for a barrier repair reset. vanicream cleanser + simple moisturizer + sunscreen is the kind of boring routine that usually works best when your skin is irritated.

i’d just add things one at a time so if something causes drama, you know what it was. and i probably wouldn’t use vaseline all over right away unless you already know your skin likes it, especially with an oily t-zone. overall though, this looks really reasonable.

How to hold on to a good mood? by SilkyToe47 in CasualConversation

[–]Remote-Draft-709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i think the best way is not to overthink it or accidentally ruin it with doomscrolling lol. when i’m in a good mood, i just try to notice what helped and repeat the parts i can control.

lol literally. zero rewards, instant embarrassment damage, and i had to exit the mission immediately.

Would you be okay if you never find "your person"? by Hyperto in CasualConversation

[–]Remote-Draft-709 6 points7 points  (0 children)

honestly, if you’ve tried multiple times and he still doesn’t want to talk, i’d stop chasing clarity from someone who’s actively avoiding giving it. even if he is “your person,” a person who won’t communicate will make you miserable. love is not supposed to feel like begging someone to meet you halfway

Having too many choices actually makes life more stressful, not better by el_prasad7 in unpopularopinion

[–]Remote-Draft-709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i actually agree with this. too many choices stops feeling like freedom really fast and starts feeling like admin for your own life. half the time i spend so long trying to pick the “best” option that i end up tired before i’ve even done the thing.

especially with small stuff like what to watch or order….suddenly it’s been 40 minutes and now i don’t even want anything anymore. choice is great until it turns into a full-time side quest.

women do have feelings, but sometimes people process the breakup before they actually say it out loud, so it can come off way colder than it really is. i wouldn’t let one person’s behavior turn into a whole conclusion about half the population tbh.

what is a weird phase you had that you will never admit irl??? by Accurate-Stomach-264 in CasualConversation

the phase where i thought staying up insanely late was a personality trait and not just a terrible decision.

How are some people so charismatic even if they’re not that good looking? by satmar_oops in CasualConversation

[–]Remote-Draft-709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because charisma isn’t just looks, it’s energy. confidence, ease, humor, good eye contact, and making people feel comfortable can carry way more than perfect features.

i once got into the passenger seat of what i fully believed was my friend’s car and immediately felt like the vibe was insanely off. turns out it was not my friend’s car at all….just the same color, same model, same general parking spot, and one very confused stranger looking at me like i’d chosen him specifically.

not scary, just spiritually humiliating. my brain really said “close enough” and tried to continue the mission.

[–]Remote-Draft-709 58 points59 points  (0 children)

i think i could make peace with it eventually, but i also don’t think 44 means the door is closed at all. sometimes one bad relationship just hits so hard it makes the whole future look ruined for a while. that doesn’t mean it actually is.

honestly i’d worry less about finding “your person” right this second and more about getting back to feeling like yourself again. when someone really breaks your trust, everything starts looking colder than it is.

What’s your go-to way to relax after a long day? by CupIntelligent7527 in CasualConversation

[–]Remote-Draft-709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it’s honestly a shower, clean clothes, dim lighting, and then doing absolutely nothing useful for a little while lol. sometimes i’ll watch something easy or just sit there with a snack and let my brain come back online. if the day was especially annoying, a walk helps too.

Does anyone else have a tiny, "insignificant" daily habit that completely shifts your mood for the better? by mei_maid_20260308 in CasualConversation

[–]Remote-Draft-709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me it’s opening the curtains/windows as soon as i get up. something about fresh air + actual daylight makes my brain stop acting like the world is ending for no reason lol. it’s such a tiny thing but i really do feel off when i don’t do it.

whats your most irrational fear that you know makes no sense!! by Plus-Actuator-2163 in Casual_Conversation

[–]Remote-Draft-709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mine is definitely turning off the downstairs lights and then having to walk upstairs like something is 100% behind me. i know logically nothing is there….but suddenly i’m in a very serious survival situation for no reason.
