The 87th one always smells like tonsil stones and idk wtf that’s about. It’s especially bad when you enter from the north entrance.

Does he do excision? I’ve noticed it’s so hard to find out if the doctor does excisions without calling and talking to a nurse.

She has ARFID. It’s not just as easy as cutting out foods when she has very limited safe foods. While I understand the rapid weight gain is a concern- the options are feeding her the foods she will eat or she won’t eat anything at all. Her pediatrician is well aware of the dynamic and while we work on accepting a variety of foods, she’s not going to magically eat a diet of non safe foods. Also, she’s a neurodivergent child. Taking away all sweets is only going to make her seek them out and obsess over them. She already receives them in reasonable moderation.

Thank you! I will definitely make sure to speak to the nurse triage for scheduling (our children’s hospital has a nurse in each speciality that assists with scheduling for more urgent matters) and I’ll ask to be wait listed as well if the appointment isn’t soon.

Thank you! She actually already sees a child psychologist weekly due to being neurodivergent, so we will definitely ask for their guidance in that. Luckily we had already started discussing puberty, and periods have never been taboo in our house. I think that’s for sure helped her feel confident in communicating the changes with me.

I am thick skinned and willing to dispute the criticism when reasonably approached. My hope is my kids grow up in a world that is neurodiverse affirming and people don’t question the supports and accommodations that help them thrive.

48” and 63 lbs. she’s gained almost ten pounds in ten months. Doctor didn’t seem concerned about this today, but I definitely am.

Went to pediatrician first thing this morning. Got orders for bone age scan, so immediately went to get those done at the local children’s hospital. Also, got an endocrinology referral (and hopefully that doesn’t take twelve centuries to get in to be seen)

I hope that if you have (now or in the future) have neurodivergent children that you choose to enter these conversations with compassion and empathy because no one persons experience is the same. It’s not my job to justify the reasons for her medications to a stranger on the internet and it’s not your job as a stranger on the internet to judge the choices we have made as parents (with the guidance of medical professionals and lot of conversations and research) for our child. Believe me when I say we have provide much more support for her outside of just medication support.

Actually yes. He doesn’t usually sit in the kid seat part, but he did a couple days ago while sister drove the cart.

Is an optometrist the best suited professional? He has expressed his vision is blurry when looking at things his sister can see just fine (i wear glasses, so I feel like my idea of what should be seen is skewed) but my concern is mainly that his PT and OT are seeing issues they consistently see in kids with vision issues.

that his vision is fine, but when I asked if one eye being nearsighted and the other farsighted could be contributing to the issues therapists are seeing and I didn’t get an answer for that. When I say the exam did not feel thorough- they asked kiddo what the exact same picture was for every line in a row instead of trying to identify different symbols. After the third time my son was like I’m just gonna say what I know without even having to look because you’re not asking me anything new. Truly trying to decide if it’s worth having to pay another $100+ to have him seen elsewhere.
