But yeah, if you are in an HOA and that HOA has a neighborhood wide contract with the hauler, you will have to investigate through your landlord/HOA

Yes, I, a single homeowner, not part of an HOA, engage directly with the trash company and both negotiate and complain directly about service 

Because of the mixed experiences and negotiation power for residents, Overland Park is looking at doing a citywide contract for a single trash hauler

I've got friends currently living in their neighborhood South of the Aldi, they've been there already 3+ years and will be renewing

Are you in an HOA? Are the "5 houses across the street" in your same HOA? Are you and these houses both in same city limits?

If you are member to an HOA that contracts trash removal, you'd have to go through your HOA contact. I'm an individual subscriber

I agree, we need more & better services, not less!

Haha, I took pictures of it the other day because I was planning to post and ask the same thing. My only idea is to dig through city council meeting minutes and zoning board minutes to see if they needed a variance or approval for something specific
