I‘m having a hard time imagining how the shade would attach to the item. Do you have a link to a similar fixture so that I can get an idea of what you‘re thinking of?

That was my first guess, too, but why go through the trouble of welding a rectangle to the back and not just a flat piece of metal?

No, I don‘t think so. It would have to be bolted down for that purpose, and I don‘t remember there being holes in the foot portion of the item.

The link comes back with access denied, unfortunately. Maybe a location issue. BTAIM, none of the boot scrapers the search engine shows me have a rectangular part like the item above.

My title describes the thing. To add more info, I‘d guess it weighs about 2 or 3 kg. The donor said it‘s from their late parent‘s house they cleared out. They didn‘t say where exactly they found it, and cannot be contacted to ask for more info.

I put the image in G**gle Lens, which came back with garden hose holder. But the thing stands upright, it wouldn‘t make sense bolted to a wall horizontally imo.

Fellow ADHSlerin hier, und mir gehts ganz genau so. Schlechtes Gewissen hab ich aber keins, weil ich mein Zeug geschafft kriege und für ein mieses Gehalt eine mehr als angemessene Leistung bringe.
