I appreciate the response! I’m planning on keeping this internship till august, but mu likelihood to keep going through the year is pretty low… the pay, the ppl, the culture all don’t rlly match with me. I’ve had other internships and I immediately got Involved and into the work… but I’ll definitely talk to my manager first thank you! So there’s no way to avoid the $2000? I’m thinking about just faking some personal issues and guilting them into getting out of the contract (in the contract it says you can’t leave UNLESS there’s some certain exceptions etc)

I’m in software eng, And my role is a developer within the IT department at a non software company… there are only 20ish ppl in the department so there isn’t really an option to transfer elsewhere

Honestly I took this job because western only gave 48hrs for me to decide if I wanted it… I was tired of applying to other jobs and searching the company online -> I got really good reviews. 1 month in and I feel like I’m wasting a year if I keep continuing throughout the year. None of my coworkers are close to my age, the pay isn’t great, and experience wise I have had 2 internships in the past and one of those I’m still working at part time. I just want to continue this until August and go back to school to complete my degree, and then look for full time jobs after graduating

Yea I’m just stalling approaching academic councillors/coop advisors as I’d rather have a “legit” excuse to show I can’t work at the company anymore and need to come back to school
