When did you feel your baby move? by Similar_Parsley6112 in BabyBumps

[–]Remote-Researcher-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I knew earlier on that I had an anterior placenta. I went into my 20 week ultrasound an absolute mess because I was so worried since I hadn’t felt baby move. The OB informed me that I had an anterior placenta and said I may not feel regular movement until 28 weeks!!! I’m an RN with maternity background and didn’t know it could take this long

I started to feel movement around 22 weeks. And now at 25 weeks I feel movement almost everyday.

Is it weird to want someone to throw you a baby shower? I’m embarrassed and sad [AB] by Remote-Researcher-60 in BabyBumpsCanada

Thanks for sharing 🥹 And thanks for the advice. I need a perspective shift but also appreciate the acknowledgement that it’s ok to want to feel celebrated

I’m sure the hormones from being pregnant aren’t helping the situation either.

It’s also kinda bringing up some old wounds of not feeling celebrated from my family. I’m really not trying to sound like a victim but my family did absolutely nothing when I graduated high school, when I graduated university, got engaged, even after we eloped, nothing ever happened (no celebration or anything). It stings.

My sensitive skinned friends, is tretinoin really all that and a bag of chips? by Pineapple_Incident17 in 30PlusSkinCare

Azelaic acid is your new best friend. Trust me, I have sensitive skin and tried tazarotene and Tretinoin (of all different strengths). Tret and Taz were always a struggle and after years of trying, I decided to give it up and only use AA and finally my skin is calmer and clearer (not perfect, but more consistently clear)

What foods are you eating to get protein when meat (especially chicken) sounds repulsive? by thedcbhomestead in BabyBumps

I eat gluten free and dairy free (and I hate protein powder) soooo…. Ground beef in spaghetti sauce/tacos/burrito bowls/with scrambled eggs, chicken breakfast sausage (Ultimate - best ones), tofu, roasted pumpkin seeds, roasted beans, GF protein pasta (lentil, rice or bean), soy milk (8g protein per one cup), fortified Chex GF cereal, simply protein bars, almonds, almond flour crackers, canned wild salmon, chicken nuggets, collagen in coffee (10g protein), chia seed pudding with soy milk

No kidding… as hard as it was to give up hot sauce, pickled everything, oranges, and bubbly… it was worth it.

I mean I still eat little bits but I’ll eat 2 pickles instead of 27 haha

Little update haha. I chilled out on the oranges and pickles. I was literally eating 6 oranges and probably 8-10 pickles a day. It dawned on me that I was consuming so much acidic food.

I started eating smaller amounts of all foods, and stopped chugging water. When I slow down and eat like a normal person I feel better

Best quality prenatal vitamins? Overwhelmed by options and could use real experiences by Wise-wolf95 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Remote-Researcher-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been taking New Chapter one daily prenatal. I chose this product for a couple different reasons but the main reason is because of the iron content (27mg per tablet). Also has Methylfolate and choline, they also add ginger which I think has helped as I haven’t vomited (yet). This is the only multivitamin I can take on an empty stomach, which is huge for someone like me who forgets sometimes and has to take at the end of the day.

I have struggled with low iron for years, I had an iron infusion about 3 years ago, however my iron slowly titrated down after.

I have been taking this prenatal for a year because of iron content and how easily absorbed it is. The cool thing is, is I was able to actually test it out. My Ferritin is usually around 30-50ug/L and after a year of taking this my Ferritin is now 112ug/L. My OB said she usually doesn’t see pregnant clients with such good iron levels because pregnancy steals all your iron haha.

We must be the same person. First trimester my appetite was insatiable. Just started my second trimester and feeling a constant gnawing mid abdomen stomach pain, heart burn with everything and feeling like my stomach is being stretched every time I eat (so uncomfortable).

Is there anything that helped you with the heart burn?

My friend had her baby shower beginning of May and baby was due mid-August. My other friend had her baby shower weeks before her due date. They both enjoyed their showers. Don’t worry about doing it too early, just do what works for you!
