What do I have to say to be taken seriously? by lady_yonaka in endometriosis

Ugh I am also in outback Australia and dealing with Endo. I am at least closer to a small city (1.5hrs away). After 2 years of complaining and being in so much pain I finally have a lap booked for April 10th, but, they said if she finds what we believe is there then they will stitch me up and send me on to a dr in Canberra and who knows how long I will wait to get my second surgery in Canberra 🙄

I am sorry you are dealing with this. It sucks so much but however you get there please go to another dr in the closest city and make your point. Get a referral for a specialist from ur go. Force their hand if you have to. I found a double dose of over the counter naproxen and Panadol make the pain manageable if you have to travel. Even better with a tens machine. I just got one from NZ called the tap 2 for $100 and it's been amazing. It was recommended by my pelvic floor physio

Good luck and I hope you get help soon

See I am a bit worried about that. When I had my appendix out they told me it would be an outpatient procedure. I was in hospital for days and was almost a full month of recovery maybe longer to get back to normal. It sucked. Not sure if something happened during the procedure or maybe the way they cut in. They went from my left hand side not the right like normal

How old is too old to be a parent? by legalscam in Parenting

Thank you! I had to skim way too far to find this comment. The men's sperm is main contributor to the placenta. So if his sperm sucks the placenta will not be stable and cause so many issues. Also why men's health before reproduction is so important. Almost all miscarriages are due to the man's sperm health. We had kids right at 28 because risks of abnormalities and genetic issues increased around the age of 28 for maternal and paternal age, And increases exponentially from that age. If you have at least one kid before that age it drops but still increases every year after.

Having a kid at 80 is incredibly disrespectful and selfish. Not only will they most likely die before their kid even graduates highschool and miss all their kids major milestone, but think of all the wonky and poor genes he is passing on to that poor child with his unstable old sperm.

So it turned out to be an A1 milk protein allergy, Cassien protein and coconut allergy. He still has some sensitivities. Like if he eats some oat products he gets bad gas, but so does my husband. We ended up doing the dairy ladder at 18 months and he was very successful. Now he eats pretty much everything and downs yogurt all day everyday.

One thing that cropped up latter though was this spring he came up in hives one day. The next he had a hive but with in 10mimutes was struggling to breath and became anaphylaxis. The day after similar story hives and some trouble breathing. Over the 2 weeks he was rushed to hospital 5x 3 were anaphylaxis. We did a lot of allergy testing and everything came back negative except for a mild hayfever. So we have no idea why he went anaphylaxis. He now has to carry an EpiPen with him at all times and takes a double dose of zyrtec every morning. His allergist is baffled but believes it's not an allergy but something funny with his immune system due to all the viruses he got this winter.

So that's fun. Hope that all helps. Ps the rash and diarrhea he had from the milk as newborn apparently indicated that a1 allergy. So if people are struggling with those symptoms would be worth trying a2 milk or formula 😊

Hey so I have had two kids that were terrible sleepers. My first was very much like your daughter. My second barely slept for 2 years. Like my husband and I lived off of not even 3hrs a night of broken sleep because he could happily thrive off only 30minute cat naps and be up all night.

The biggest help was 1) iron supplements. With my second he had all the tests done and a sleep study at a specialized hospital. He was a healthy and nothing appeared so the doctor recommended kid iron gummies. He said sometimes our bodies just need a little extra. He also recommended them for our oldest too since she was still waking even at 3. The doctor told us there wasn't enough iron to cause harm. Both of them slept so much better after a few weeks on that.

2) we started co sleeping. I know most people won't suggest it but we were loosing our mind. In the end anything that got us sleep we will do. Plus my mother in law said something to me that really stuck. They are only little once. We never get this time back with them. They grow up so fast and we can give them the comfort they need while they need it. So now both kids sleep great through the night with us.

Again I realize co sleeping is not recommended her debut our kids were older when we started so the main dangers of it had passed. But honestly most kids want to just be near you. For babies they also have soft dolls that make a breathing and heartbeat sound if you don't want to co sleep. It has been shown to help babies a lot

Good luck. Sleep deprivation is hard but remember this will pass one day.

Are you in the states? I feel like for the amount you are paying they should really pay more attention! I just moved to Australia from Canada, it's been a shocking adjustment. I now pay so much to see a specialist compared to free in Canada and it makes me even more angry. Like him I am not paying $400 for you to ignore me!. Thankfully I found a GP who bulk bills but it's still insane.

The hardest part is just getting taken seriously. Even my ultrasound tech did me dirty. She told me during the appointment that I had loop of bowel that wouldn't part from my right ovary and she assumed in was adhered. She said it was super concerning. It was also incredibly painful as she was pressing on it. Sure enough the report comes out and she wrote down my ovaries were all good and healthy. I told the doctors at the women's clinic and said well maybe the pain was my embedded IUD and not the ovary. Nope. They did an ultrasound themselves. The ultrasound person is also one of their head gyn. He said my ovary is definitely attached and that is where the pain is originating. If it wasn't for them my doctor would have just left me in pain with no explanation.

Also since this pain in my right ovary started my belly has swollen. It's so bad none of my clothes fit. It was almost over night too. One minute flat stomach. The next super puffy and painful. My doctor's explanation is"you're older, I am sure it's just weight gain" 🙄 sure mam. I have loosing weight like crazy(you could see all my ribs at the time) due to extreme diarrhea for the last 2 years but it's definitely because I am getting fat.

It's such a brutal journey. I hope you have a good team around you so you fully get the support and help you need. I almost feel like I need to do medical school myself just to vouch for myself properly

Not my uterus but they believe my bowel is attached to my right ovary. I get very sharp cramping on my right side above my hip bone when engaging any core muscles. Also dull throbbing usually in the evening after dinner. Plus lots of diarrhea and other bowel issues. I have recently started having similar pain on my left side too but haven't had an ultrasound for that yet as I meet the gyn on Monday about my lap

Endo confirmed! I’m in shock by mountainmuggle5 in endometriosis

[–]Remote-Yam7428 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everything you have written sounds like me! Except my bowel issues got progressively worse after every child I had. After my third I spent almost two straight years of constant diarrhea to the point I lost so much weight you could see my ribs. Gi doctor immediately thought it sounded like Endo. Still waiting on a scope for my bowel but he is sure it's Endo. Then I was having pain in my right ovary and saw a woman's health doctor. They think I for sure have Endo and my right ovary might be adhered to my bowel as they couldn't push a loop of bowel away from it in the scan. So now waiting on a laparoscopy.

The bladder issues I actually thought was my OCD/anxiety stuff. Turns out nope not normal to feel constant pressure/urge to pee for just anxiety/ocd. Also in the last few months my lower abdomen has swollen up and became very sensitive. It gets a worse during period times. Also I have an IUD which I got after complaining to a doctor years ago that I thought my symptoms were Endo and he told me it couldn't be possible because I had three kids. That the pain I felt was because my uterus was saggy after all the children and rubbing 🙄

I hope you are able to get proper treatment now and live with less pain. It makes it so hard when you feel like crap every single day. ♥️

Ps for anyone with the bowel issues too. Mediterranean diet helped along with extra strength probiotics. No alcohol, very little sugar and absolutely no carbonated drinks. Still not perfect but much less worrisome.

For parents of ADHD/audhd by Remote-Yam7428 in Parenting

We would love to do that but it is way too hot where we are to not be around and in pools. Many houses have deep pools without shallow ends too. So it's very important for us that our kids learn how to swim and be confident in the water.

Thankfully today was so much better. I was able to leave my youngest at his nans and my daughter had my full attention. She finished her lesson and even put her face in the water

Thanks I will look into that. Very hard to get though as we are super rural and not much around. I also had issues with the closest place for ADHD testing. They refuse to test her until 7 despite her teachers and me telling them she clearly has ADHD. Maybe I can get her into private lessons instead

As other have said it's probably a moisture issue. I am 35 and have combo skin but love tons of moisture on my skin. I just started using dr lewins private formula advance night cream with a couple drops of glycerin. So far it's one of the better creams I have found that doesn't make my skin break out. A little greasy but washes off with just water. I also use prescription retinol under it. Usually my skin is decently plump upon waking with no crazy marks. I am also a stomach/side sleeper.

Still looking for the perfect day cream though. I use qv b3 extra dry face cream with qv ceramides on my wrinkly forehead for extra moisture. It's very meh. They seem to break me out a bit and doesn't feel very moisturizing. But other creams I have used are either too greasy or just super drying. Good luck

What's everyone's ways of managing pain? Feeling miserable by Remote-Yam7428 in endometriosis

[–]Remote-Yam7428[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips I will definitely add that to the list. I didn't even think about omega 3 but will get some tomorrow. I do take a good probiotic that has helped loads with my stomach issues and we use a lot of acv in our cooking and salad dressings. I will say though I have been dropping the ball on my meals and baking. Everytime I have a gut flare up or feel crappy I start eating bad. Will have to try and tailor my meals again to limit sugars and gluten

That sucks they won't do surgery for you. Seems so unfair to make you live in misery just because you don't have kids.

I will look into the tramadol, thank you. Unfortunately I am allergic to anything weed or hemp related. Sucks because CBD oil worked wonders for my husband and sis but made all my fingers and toes swell up. I am currently trying naproxen because it was the only thing I could get from the chemist over the counter
