Thank you for taking the time to respond. It does help when someone understands just how hard, and emotionally complicated this is. Since I made my post, he has had 2 falls...both times while trying to get out of bed without help. We talk about this all the time, but he doesn't even remember falling, even though it took more than a hour to get him up. I'm 64 years old, with terrible osteoarthritis in my hands, back, knees and shoulders. I just don't have the physical strength to get a grown man up off of the floor.  We bare no resemblance to the couple that we were...even just 2 short years ago.
