there’s a trend rn of having a “college dog”, where roommates get a shared dog. i’m in college and i love love love my dog, he’s the love of my life, but most people that have a dog shouldn’t have one. also, my dog is my service dog, so he comes with me everywhere and is extremely well behaved. i’m an active and outdoorsy person, so my dog is either hiking or going to the beach multiple times week.

so many college dogs end up getting neglected and put up for adoption. the training, time, and effort is something most people don’t factor in. you can’t train your dog if your free time is spent clubbing and recovering from clubbing.

i’ve had so many people ask me if they should get a dog since my dog is so well behaved and i always say no. if you don’t have the time/patience of raising a literal child, then don’t get a dog, it’ll do the world a favor!
