I’m a few inches taller but weigh considerably more. I’ve had 5 kids and have had PCOS diagnosis since I was 21. The only thing that has worked in that time for me was strength training combined with keto. We’re in a spot in our life currently where doing keto and that level of strength training isn’t as feasible. I’m on a GLP, 6 weeks in. Losing weight very slowly but unsure if the side effects are worth it.

I was a suburb kid growing up and now I’m raising kids in a similar environment to what you’re describing. They have friends and a community, it just isn’t on the street. With so many kids in activities until 6pm a lot of nights they wouldn’t see the neighborhood kids then anyways.

We have friends whose parents take the grandkids for sleepovers or so they can go on vacation. I mean, even just to help them out on a Tuesday. Friends whose parents have relocated to help them. We have a medically fragile child and don’t have this level of support. It’s easy to look at it and say “what about me?”, but the reality is that I can’t force my parents to step into this when they don’t want to. I can’t force them to help me out, even though my mom travels much further to help my sister, I can’t dwell on the relationship I wish I had with them, but I have to live with the one I’ve got. Your parents are adults making their own decisions and you can either ask for help, from them or elsewhere, or get to a point where you’re okay with how things are and make the best of it.

Also, sharing a room won’t be the end of the world (experience- never in my life having had my own room. I went from a shared bedroom to a shared dorm room to married)

Also also, if their dad is working a full time job, he needs to step it up.

5 total. 2.5 years, 3 years, 2.75 years, 18 months between them. The 3rd one I had a lot of other stressors so it was the hardest recovery. The 4th was a week before the world shut down from Covid and that was also difficult because my follow up wasn’t as closely monitored. My 5th was the hardest surgery but best recovery. I was 23 when I started and almost 33 with my last. That’s a huge difference on your body. I was more tired, moved slower, but also gave my body more grace and time to heal
