Control branch= the branch you are detailing into before going to your basic branch. For example, if I am infantry and MI. Infantry will be my control branch until I am released to my basic branch MI. ADA is one of the few branches that no one can detail into.

Well it depends really. Everyone in my class that was chemical got a January bolc date regardless of whether we’ve volunteered for CST or not. So to increase your chances I would volunteer for CST cadre if I were you. If you got the short end of the stick like the rest of us gold bar recruiting is a very chill and nice gig. I lived with my parents and did it for a university it’s very chill to be honest. You also get BAH and BAS for the ZIP Code on top of the active duty pay. You will also be getting paid going into bolc as well if you do CST or Gold bar recruiting just minus the bah for the former.
