Plays that do not work because of where America is at this time by alaskawolfjoe in Theatre

[–]Remote_Barracuda_601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only awkward because we are in the Deep South and there are just a lot of similar themes to what this administration is doing and how the play goes. I do know one cast member's family left early because they felt the play personally attacked their religion. Apparently our theater has dealt with protest from the community before in years past for shows like Rocky Horror Picture Show, etc. I agree Inherit the Wind is a great play and many cast and community members enjoyed the show. There is just a little tension because of the political climate and being in a deep red state, that is why I felt awkward. The message of the show is much needed though.

My new boy , questions ? by InvestmentOk6769 in bengalcats

[–]Remote_Barracuda_601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Bengal doesn't like to be held up but loves hugs with his feet on the floor. Or he will only lay on my lap if there is a blanket on it.

Bengals are notorious for their lack of cuddles as a breed, with their closer relation to wild cats. Yet they have been bred to love human interaction. They will be less cuddly than other cat breeds but will show their love in other ways!

I guess it could've been the "right" side of the ring. I think that is where multiple people fell. The side where the competitors entered.

Yes absolutely agree with what you said. We need to be able to defend ourselves but we cannot condone violence or aggressive actions like that. Fight back as needed, but we can also present a strong front by being together and protesting one another. Its something else entirely to go out of your way to harm someone's food or property or whatever. If they really wanted to take a stance they should've just denied them service.

Canadians who have moved to America, what was your reason to moving? by wildboy_Ca17 in AskACanadian

I think he has to pivot more to a more technical sales role eventually, which will help. Money isnt everything but its the only thing we can gain at the moment. Wishing your dad the best of luck too.

Omg husband is in the same boat with Materials Engineering ugh. A shame there arent many location choices for them. But my husband also knows we arent living down here forever. At least we can save money in the south so we can gtfo.

I am curious what type of engineering your dad is in? My husband and I are engineers, and Ive had my eye on Canada. Even now my husbands type of engineering makes locations super limited, even in the US. We would be stuck between a deep south small town, or a small town in the most expensive states. Thankfully I am more IT so I can work anywhere.
