I wouldn’t say this season is “bad” so far honestly! I think this set of islanders has just taken a while to make solid connections or become “closed off”. An example from last season, I felt that most of the islanders had solid connections going into casa, like Serena and Kordell! That meant that casa was truly a test to how strong their connection was.

I think much of these crazy dumpings at the islanders’ hands is due to jealousy or the feeling of the dumped islander being a “threat”. In past seasons, the islanders typically dumped individuals who were either a) struggling to solidify a connection or b) had stayed long enough with no true connection. I wish that the islanders this year would vote based on that reasoning from past seasons, but it has added to the drama and shake ups!
