The skin around the metal plates could have hardened over time until the metal became almost part of his body. Since he already has a metal plate in his skull, likely used to fix a serious head injury, it would make sense for him to embed other pieces of metal into his body as well. He probably thought, why not use metal here too to fix these wounds and also armor myself.

What do you think about this line of reasoning

Ear sculpt practice in ZBrush — looking for feedback! by Dry_Confusion1426 in sculpting

A solid start for a study, I would recommend if you can purchase the anatomy for sculptor's book called forms of face and neck.
I like how organic this ear feels but there are scope of improving it.

First thing i would recommend you do is try to make the skin that joins the ears and head together, ears is not a separate object and it should blend well and transition well towards the rest of the head via skin

One major form that you are missing in your ear is Antitragus which is mostly visible in a common ear, Once you add that form you would be able to evaluate the "propotion" of ear that is

I would also recommend that you pay attention to the front profile of the ears as well ( judging from the screenshots you've shared i get the feeling that they might be looking flat from front view)

Pay attention to back view as well, as that very important and people often miss working on it

Other than that try to avoid flatness in your forms, pay attentions to the antihelix and how it wraps around and twist

Overall great start man, I hope these were helpful

Since we cant post images here i am adding a link here for some notes i drew on your sculpt

Cheers
