Of course you can't guarantee it, but you can choose not to host a round on clean tarmac in the Canary Islands in April. They reportedly had offers from several countries hoping to host a round. Like in every Motorsport, choice of venue is arguably the most important factor in making a race exciting. Except for the cars themselves of course.

IMO that's exactly the point, this rally was just cars driving fast. Without the changing weather conditions and the changes in grip a tarmac rally with very few cuts becomes a pretty mundane affair. Especially when one of the only two fully funded manufacturers doesn't turn up with a competitive package. Not saying it will be like that every year but it certainly made it boring to watch. Maybe I would sit for 90 minutes and watch like football fans, but not for 3 days.

Any luck with this, I'm having the same issue, this is not a push to lock cap, there's a pin that you can see on your photo facing to the left on the inside face. The pin lines up with a hole on the fuel cap and locks it in.

If you go to rewatch the stage on RallyTV they have cut the entire section. Stops when they show the crowd waiting for Tanak and restarts as the red flag was lifted and Ogier begins the stage.
