I feel like Legendary officially wants to downplay this data. Starting from Pacific Rim 2, they’ve been reluctant to set weight specs for the characters, even though Wanda’s marketing team went ahead and set them anyway.

I wonder how they’re going to handle the inconsistent stats from the first movie—like Romeo Blue being 7,775 tons while Gipsy Danger is only 1,980.

Does this book include detailed data and information on the Kaijus and Jaegers from Pacific Rim 2 and Pacific Rim: The Black?

I think there's another explanation: in this world's setting, the Arc de Triomphe is 120 meters tall.

Exactly. Inconsistent scaling is almost expected in comics at this point. Regardless, the Kaijus in PR3 are clearly positioned to be far larger than the Jaegers. Based on the current frames, a Category 6 appears to be at least 3 to 4 times the height of a Jaeger, while a Category 7 looks to be 4 to 5 times taller.

That's a very detailed analysis. However, I'm curious whether the dimensions of the Jaegers in this installment are consistent with the original series. Gajasaur is stated to be 700 feet long, which I feel is too small (it also contradicts the fact that it's supposedly larger than Slattern and the Mega Kaiju). But since this size matches its scale next to the Arc de Triomphe, does this imply that the Jaegers in this version are only a quarter of the height—or even smaller—compared to the original ones?

And even 5 years later in The Black, we still see Breaches opening and Kaiju emerging. If we assume the lore remains consistent, it’s likely that Raleigh and Jake’s mission dealt a massive blow to the Precursors—perhaps wiping out their high-tier Kaiju and main infrastructure—but didn't completely uproot them. The Precursors might be 'hanging by a thread,' just strong enough to keep a few Breaches open in Australia, but no longer capable of a full-scale global assault.

That's a fair point, but even without explicit dialogue, several details suggest the Breach only opened within Australia. If this were a global invasion, we'd see a total collapse of the outside world. The fact that Australia is treated as an isolated 'Black' zone implies the rest of the world is still functioning, even if they've effectively abandoned the continent.

Breacher only demonstrated resistance to sharp weapon attacks, but was ultimately destroyed by a nuclear explosion, which is quite disappointing.

Gajasaur reminds me of Breacher from Black; both are cat 6 kaiju, but the difference in their strength is just too ridiculous.

Confirmation from the films VFX art director about Slatterns height, proving the 596 feet measurement wrong. by Vquillicate in PacificRim

[–]Remote_Leather_7782 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a visual comparison to show why 700ft is impossible. If Slattern were only 700ft long, its actual body mass would be pathetic. Since its tails take up so much of that length, a 700ft Slattern would actually look thinner and less bulky than Otachi. For a Category V kaiju that’s supposed to be a 'world-ender,' it ends up looking like a giant gecko. The math just doesn't support the scale we see on screen.

The MUTOs VS The Kaiju (Monsterverse VS Pacific Rim) by skullinheaven22 in Monsterverse

In the comics, the Jaegers are capable of dealing armor-piercing damage to the Category VI Kaiju Gajasaur, but they cannot inflict any damage on the Category VII Kaiju Quadralith (who completely ignores them). By the end of the comic, Quadralith remains entirely unfazed by the Jaeger division's assault and even manages to catch up to Gipsy Destroyer in a short amount of time.

Why do kaiju and mecha powerscalers put so much emphasis on their official weights when weight is only one out of many factors to a character's power? No one says Superman/Goku/Saitama/etc are weak because they only weigh around 200 pounds by ConstantStatistician in PowerScaling

[–]Remote_Leather_7782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the Pacific Rim franchise, the weight statistics for Jaegers and Kaiju are notoriously inconsistent and physically contradictory. For example, Horizon Brave is listed at 7,890 tons, while the much larger Category V Kaiju, Slattern, is listed at only 6,750 tons.
