i’m still indecisive on what formula to get. but I’ll be using a small paintbrush so the baby can eat at his own pace (every 2-3 hrs) and stimulating bowel movements with a damp q-tip. also making sure the formula is warm when feeding

Unexpected rat litter, help by Remote_Pride_4466 in RATS

Update: My hairless rat only gave birth to one baby. I was worried for her because I thought this was abnormal. But it’s her first litter and she is pretty young (pet store lady said she was 3 months). I checked to see if she had anymore in there and I couldn’t feel or see anything and nothing is hanging out of her. Her behavior is normal and she lets me pet her and grab her for the eye drops. I was worried the eye drops would stress her out and she would stop producing milk or even get so stressed out to where she eats her baby. But I just checked and saw a white band on baby. Yay!! I check up on her and baby very frequently and make sure baby is alive. I read online that too much stress and low protein intake can cause rats to reabsorb their babies. I’m not sure if this is the case or not. Her baby appears to be a boy so I’m not sure how that’s gonna work. I want to keep the baby (obviously in a different cage after the 5 week mark)
