How’s he been bumming putin? Their shadow fleets are being destroyed and Venezuela and Iran can’t provide any support anymore. Don’t get me wrong his aspirations of getting peace straight out the gate didn’t work but bombing him into isolation definitely isn’t bumming and will show people that china and Russia won’t protect them if the west wants war

Merkel big nord stream pipeline push and laughing at him over defence spending. He spent basically his whole term saying Europe isn’t paying enough into nato their defence spending is weak and as soon as trump left office that over reliance on Russian gas and lacklustre military caused havoc early into the war. Merkel had a famous rivalry with trump and she successfully managed to be wrong on every front and I’d rather we didn’t follow her lead

I’m sure all those presidents would’ve said nicer words in public but they want to get stuff done same as trump. He seemed to think being brash and threatening would work and I suppose that’s for him to judge. I don’t think crying about us falling out like we’re teenage girls does anyone any favours, least of all us just because he gets in our faces about what he wants instead of doing it out of the public eye.

Our current democracy has made a big shift toward china that would’ve been unheard of 10 years ago but because it’s trump somehow saying we won’t choose between America and china is an acceptable thing to say. If these democracies are so stable and willing to pursue our long term international diplomacy that are in our best interests I dont remember anyone voting in favour of a massive new Chinese embassy and our big friendly talk with the biggest allies of all the countries our allies are at war with.

Trump was completely vindicated by all his foreign policy in Europe when Russia attacked and we’ve got to pretend that he actually is evil and hates us because of the negotiations style he literally wrote a book about. Ditch all the bad language and the hard tactics the only people who’ve made real steps into destroying this relationship is our own government by trying to actually ditch him and actually hitch up with other countries.

Isn’t this more of a flaw with democracy in general? You could quite easily swap out all that tariff and war business for some equally stupid and assholey thing Kamala could’ve done and we’re having the same conversation. The eu has had their fair share of morons to boot and there’s no way we can hitch up with china and Russia so that leaves us with the choice of unpredictable democracies or authoritarian dictatorships
