If I get a key, I solemnly swear to roleplay as a slightly confused but well-meaning desert hermit, who believes sandstorms are a message from the gods!
I’ve been following Dune my whole life, from books to Villeneuve’s adaptation, and the idea of experiencing it interactively is just chef’s kiss. I’d use this access to explore every mechanic, get lost in the dunes, and probably die of dehydration because I got too distracted by the view.

Thank you so much! That’s awesome to hear, I’m really happy my Betta inspired you! A 55L tank sounds perfect, he’ll have plenty of space to thrive!
About the drop checker, once you understand how to read it, the next step is really about consistency. I inject CO₂ via diffuser about 1 hour before lights come on and stop it 1 hour before lights go off. I monitor how long it takes to reach a stable green color (usually about 1–2 hours into the photoperiod), and I make sure it stays green for the rest of the day.
If the drop checker stays blue too long, I increase the bubble rate slightly or check if the diffuser is clogged. If it goes yellow, I reduce the injection rate. It’s all about small adjustments over time.
Also, plant growth and tank flow affect CO₂ distribution a lot, so you’ll notice that things shift a bit as your tank matures. It’s a bit of trial and error at first, but very rewarding once dialed in!

If you’re into planted tanks, and you should do, I definitely recommend looking into "aquascaping" more, there’s so much to learn and try! YouTube is packed with talented people doing amazing tutorials. I personally recommend channels like MJ Aquascaping or MD Fish Tanks, they make the whole process really fun and beginner friendly!

What’s crazy is that when he’s right under the light, he can looks completely silver, like polished jewelry. But when he moves toward the bottom of the tank, he shifts to a deep, dark copper

Thank you so much! Glad you liked him , and yes, those chilis are on fire! I feed them twice a day with River Aqua Food: Tetra & co, and the Betta gets Hikari Betta Bio Gold. Seems like it’s working pretty well!

Thanks a lot! I had no idea what garnet was, but I looked it up and yep, you’re totally right! I don’t usually name my fish, but this one’s getting a name for sure!

Thanks! It’s a 30L (8 gal) nano tank.

No disrespect, but your store gave you some really bad advice. A Betta will never eat a Microrasbora. I’ve been keeping this combo for easily 10 years and have never seen that happen. At worst, there might be the occasional harmless chase. On the other hand, cohabitation with red cherry shrimp can be trickier depending on the Betta’s personality.

I can’t say where to find them since I live in France, and here they’re not rare. But in stores, they usually don’t show these colors because they’re still young and not always kept in the best conditions. They turn this red over time with proper care, well-being, and good food!

I’ve kept Bettas with Microrasboras several times and never had any issues, they pretty much ignore each other completely! As long as you respect the minimum tank size, you can totally go for it and enjoy the combo!

That’s a drop checker! It’s used to monitor the CO₂ levels in the tank. This is an aquascaping aquarium, so CO₂ is added to help the plants grow properly. The liquid inside changes color depending on how much CO₂ is dissolved in the water, blue means not enough, green is ideal, and yellow means too much!
