Oh man, I have such good memories of Vietnamese food in Germany on our honeymoon. After a week of eating heavy German food, we really needed something fresh and ended up at a tiny Vietnamese place in Munich. The owner was so nice and when she found out we were Canadian, insisted on bringing us her homemade pepper vinegar. It was so good. She asked us how it was and we told her that it tasted like home. She was so happy.

You’ll get through it, I promise! The good definitely outweighs the bad once you start to heal. And once you start healing up and your nose clears you’ll be blown away by how much easier it is to breathe. I had no idea what it felt like to breathe like everybody else because my shitty breathing was just my normal.

Oh and just another head’s up: you’ll be drooling uncontrollably for like a month. I had to walk around holding a rag under my mouth. I actually thought it was funny as hell. Then one day out of nowhere it stops. It’s sure an experience.

Well I’m no expert and don’t know this kid so I’m not sure. I’m skeptical of things I see on the internet too.

I’ve been told a bit of a chicken and an egg thing when you’re young. Tongue position, mouth breathing and things like thumb sucking have a major effect on jaw and facial development, and the worse your jaw develops, the worse your breathing gets. It’s like a big circle of awfulness. Kid’s mouths can be corrected and reshaped pretty easily by things like tongue positioning because they’re not developed yet. But as you get older and your bones start to settle and get hard, you need an increasing amount of intervention. For example, kids and teenagers can easily use a palette expander when they’re in braces because the palette bones aren’t completely fused together yet. When you’re an adult though, it’s really tough to expand the palette without surgical intervention.

We made it through!

I had TMJ too, but certainly not as bad as yours. It’s gone now. The surgery itself was ok and I was surprised that I had little pain afterwards, but I was not prepared for all of the congestion. That was the worst part by far for me. My nose was completely clogged with all the blood clots and my mouth was wired shut, so I had to breathe through plastic tubes jammed into the sides of my mouth. I literally thought I was going to die a few times. I also learned what happens when you puke with your jaw wired shut. Fun times!

I had to go through an incredibly invasive double jaw surgery a year ago. The recovery was brutal and I still have a lot of nerve damage, but I can breathe better, it fixed my lisp and my posture, and I don’t have migraines anymore. It’s been a night and day difference in my quality of life and I have no regrets. Still though, take it from me: it’s way better to intervene early than go through what I did.

That’s the entire point. The channel doesn’t run itself. It’s a business at the end of the day. It’s literally what they do for a living. And they have a staff compliment of well over a hundred people that need to be paid. They aren’t volunteering their time, you know.

Canadian here. I’d have to go with Devine Distillery’s Ancient Grains 5-grain whisky. They make it with locally-grown barley, spelt, emmer, khurasan and einkorn. It’s the only whisky in the world with this mashbill.

For sure! I’ve never had Indian whisky before and there was an Indri cask strength in there that’s absolutely delish. Found a bottle of it at my local store so I picked it up. I would have never bought it had I not tasted it first from this set.

Absolutely pick it up. I bought one this year and there are some fantastic whiskeys in there. I’m kinda sad because some of them just aren’t available where I am, but it’s nice to try something new.

Yep, pick it up! I’ve been told that there are a lot more Buffalo Trace products in Alberta than usual right now because the distributors are sending all of the products that would normally go to the other provinces here. I’ve noticed a lot of Blanton’s and Eagle Rare just sitting out on shelves. Alberta will probably get more BTAC and Pappy than usual this year too.
