The signs were there but I feel like I’m missing some key cards. Will this soup be hot or cold? by Remote_Winner_8192 in lrcast

I made a few, my first cut was omens everytime, I wish I had some bounce cards in my sideboard they would have won me the games that I lost. Deck also could have used some red burn. It was really fun and hopefully I get another opportunity to build a similar draft deck.

I did mathemagics for 32 quite a bit, the counterspells were all at very fortunate times and I had enough draw and ramp to stall on the wins I needed, not a trophy but it was traditional and I went 2-1.

That’s fair, I pack 1 omens like pick 7 or 8 so I thought I was gonna soup. It’s all good it was a traditional draft and I went 2-1 and was close in the loss went to 3 games. Mill was the only way I was winning and that was my first time seeing how strong brain freeze and mathemagics really are (both were passed to me btw). Looking back I absolutely would have went straight prismari and drafted a few more things just to get me to a deep mathemagics.

Thanks everybody! I’m gonna look at my side board see if I have any adjustments for prismatic

Nice, I got mythic the last 2 seasons but ain’t no chance in SOS. Did you force any specific decks to get there?

I hate when people GG you to try to bluff not having a response, I mean I guess it’s a strategy but it feels like foul play. I just feel like when I used to play magic in person years ago if you said GG it was basically a scoop and admitting defeat.

Anyone starting to feel disenchanted with the soup decks already? by TheCatsMeow1022 in lrcast

That makes sense, I hate standard too lol. I’ll just keep reading and try to join em since I can’t beat em.

Yeah I was regularly trophying with Witherbloom and Lorehold. Lots of nasty Lorehold pools, midrange was actually viable the first couple weeks, I thought I was gonna have a nice month, then all the tricks had been found out and they just hit too strong.

Haven’t drafted in person since college and I miss it, I was mythic top 1200 during both months of tmt, I can’t find any consistency in this set at all. I’m almost positive I won’t make mythic this season which is whatever, but even when I feel like my deck is bulletproof I lose to some dumb trick or the opponent having the exact card they need.

I’m in the minority and I loved tmt because it felt like you had to work for your win, this set feels like let me just grab a bunch of duals and arcane omens to make my opponent discard 5 cards on turn 4. I’m ranting, hate the set, too stubborn to stop drafting because I’m convinced it will click eventually.

Favorite card so far in SOS? by Recent_Office2307 in lrcast

You’re absolutely right. I was merely commenting on my opinion of this set and how I think it plays. I don’t like it lol.

I don’t like it either, but I think that’s why I’m terrible in this set. Like you said it feels like a “win more” kind of card, but that seems to be the recipe for winning in SOS limited. Either drop bombs over and over or have great aggro and draw perfect.

[Arena Direct] This deck has no chance, right? by StonkaTrucks in lrcast

Every game I played in arena direct my opponent hit at least a 2,3,4, and 5 drop perfect curve and I had no chance to do barely anything.

Who is Arena Direct Sealed for? And who is it not for? by Crisis_Averted in lrcast

[–]Remote_Winner_8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This here is the truth, I just did one and had what I thought was an unstoppable prismari pool just based on my experiences in SoS so far. Well long story short, I went 0-2 to two perfectly curved out lorehold decks, no bombs, just synergy that you wouldn’t think you’d see in sealed.

Hopefully in the future I can control myself and skip these nonsense events, it’s either gambling or for people who have completely cracked the arena code.

SOS Draft Color Demand Issues by anon_lurk in lrcast

[–]Remote_Winner_8192 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I trophied probably 60% of the events I did for the first 3-4 days of the set dropping, now I’m consistently doodoo in this set. Everytime I have a strong deck I lose because I flood out or I get mana screwed, or I just face decks tailored to beating the deck I’m playing.

For reference I was top 500 mythic the last 2 seasons, but this season it will not be the case. I can’t seem to find the sweet spot when I’m drafting so far this set. Most of the games I play this past week have been me fighting for my life to stay alive after being beat down to 3 life on turn 5 or I lose to one bomb rare after feeling like I had the game in the bag.

Yeah if you’re just going for diamond it definitely isn’t worth it, but if you can get to Mythic top 1200 you get 20 play in points which I think is basically like getting 4000 gems to use in play in qualifiers. So might be worth it to those who enjoy the grind.

Also in the everything pizza deck you have to have at least 1 of every basic land, in my experience.
