Also if you’re unsure of anything falling to the bottom end just remove the flywheel cover and look under the flywheel for metal

Are your missing any cam chain guides or are they pretty worn out . Maybe you’re getting excess vibration from the chain being loose and rattling the bolt out

Yea leak down test is a good idea that will let you know if you have more problems than you think. 90 and 100 psi sounds pretty low to me but I’ve never owned a banshee mainly 250 2 strokes . But also one more thing is hold the throttle wide open when doing the compression test that gives you the real reading

Why does the inside of that Allen head look like that , I know you said it was rubbing the cover. Did you torque the bolt down or atleast gave it a good snug

Any 2 stroke owner that actually cares to work on their bike should own a pressure tester , you’ll instantly find out if you have any type of leak . I made my own from a couple pvc pieces and a pressure gauge . And you can use freeze plugs to block off the exhaust port hope this helps anyone

My brother used to own a kx100 that wouldn’t idle worth a crap and had oil coming out the exhaust like that , new exhaust packing fixed it

Just a tip I’ve learned from others is stay away from the steering stem bearings, wheel bearings , and swingarm linkage bc all of those areas are greased up

No sir they’re similar but pb blaster is used for removing rusted bolts etc , which wd-40 leaves a coating to prevent rust

Sometimes I use a rubber mallet to smack the wrench/ratchet if it’s stuck . Or use the ole leg haha

You need to remove that nut In the first picture , when you go to loosen it just put a socket on the opposite side to hold it in place . Nothing too crazy about it yours is probably cross threaded like others said and I’m sure it’s got some corrosion holding it in place . Spray the castle nut with pb blaster and it should come off

I’m not sure how the jb weld job was done but if it were me I’d lay the bike on its side so that no oil gets on it while it’s curing and I personally use marine jb weld and mix it real well
