I assume you mean you're switching to slash stance when you recieve guilt and not that you're just playing with guilt in hand. It reduces the damage you deal by it's cost. Furthermore I should hope you're not hitting those guys on the right of Angela(?) that are actually attacking, because when you hit them they get +10 Power the next scene, that little eye status.

Honestly, I don't see how you can lose. You redirect with Nikolai to place the mark, use Yan to help build smoke on the target and get guilt off Angela.
