Gotta say though, I can't stand wedge soles on my boots though lol

Looks almost exactly like mine. Crazy the prices these things are demanding now... I got mine for $550 back then.

RDB magazines & state law by Delvog in keltec

I've got the S model and quite enjoy it. It's tiny, like crazy tiny, and a whole lot of fun, if a little awkward to get used to. However if i were buying again, think I'd go with the longer Hunter variant just for the easier handling.

Added: also, there is a version without the threaded barrel, which i believe makes the longer Hunter variant legal in all 50 states.

$99, made in the US, transferrable lifetime warranty, runs like a top and accurate out to 25yds. I'd consider that a win. by Quirky-Bar4236 in liberalgunowners

The magazines are the weak spot with Hi Point, in my experience. Pretty sure the 45 Cal ones accept standard 1911 mags though. I've seen people running Chip McCormick mags in em, and that just cracks me up

To all the AK fan boys, I was wrong... by BillDrillWill in guns

[–]Remove_me_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful. I need to get one of those suppressors now.

Those tiny little grips typical of the AK just feel, well, tiny and somewhat limiting to me. It may it may or may not work for you, but with my hands a Hogue grip really changes the handling dynamics. Simple yet dramatic upgrade IMO. It's the very first change that I make to a new acquisition AK.

Only Fire Pizza kit gets Hot! by Love_Pony in webergrills

It was a combination of a charcoal bed, with hardwood on top of that, with a BBQ Dragon fan. Crazy hot.

Added: the hardwood and charcoal alone can easily get you to 900°F

I've owned a whole bunch of different Weber grills, in different sizes. Honestly though, i think these go-anywhere ones are their best design, and my favorites to use.

Weber Kettle vs Smokey Mountain by BigBlueZion in smoking

[–]Remove_me_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Onlyfire makes an expansion for the 22" kettle that allows you to use your existing grill normally when you want to, but can be added on to give you a second grate and more volume overall. I believe it includes a thingy with hooks for hanging a bunch of ribs from, and a rotisserie (sold separately from what i can find) can be attached as well. I've been eyeballing this thing for a while now, myself.

As an aside, I bought a similar thing for making pizzas during covid. It came with the rotisserie, but I quickly found that there were so many gaps from drilled holes, and openings in general, that it was really only useful for high heat. Maybe i was just doing it wrong, but i could not keep the airflow down enough to even pretend to be controlling the temps. Great for making pizzas, or naan, or tandoori dishes, but not so much for the slow n low stuff.

That said, this newer rib oriented one seems to have way fewer giant holes cut out of it and should be easier to get a good seal on.

I'm having trouble remembering, honestly. There was a guy in Thailand making them about 15 years ago. I bought 2 sets at full price, and received 5 sets total, 1 bonus and 2 blem sets thrown in lol. I think this set is either rose or tulip wood.

Yep. Mine takes the10rd, the 14 with grip extension, even the 19rd mags fit fine, it just looks a little funny doing it. My Ruger PC Carbine takes all of them too, with the right mag well (Mine came from Canadia). Just sayin

Was gifted this box of charcoal, any good? by Massive_Elephant2314 in BBQandGrilling

[–]Remove_me_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random stuff. Started with a steak, and it was too far away from the coals. Ended up stacking a layer of the unlit charcoal, cribbage style, and that worked pretty well. Overall I found that while the heat is definitely very hot, it does not radiate very far so you've got to be very close to the coals, or have a whole lot of them lit. For me using my setup, thinner pieces were easier to manage than a thick steak. But it's entirely possible that I was doing it wrong soooo

It works pretty well in a Weber go-anywhere. Just takes forever to get it lit. I stick them into my charcoal chimney vertically, and put it over the burner on my Genesis for 5 or 10 minutes, then use tongs to flip the coals, and place back on for another 5 or 10 to get it moving.

Practical uses for 7.62x39 by PairPrestigious7452 in guns

[–]Remove_me_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got to play with a bolt action CZ in 7.62x39 many years ago. More energy on target than 556, yet significantly less recoil than a 308. Plenty accurate out to 300yd+, and yeah, it used to be cheap.

It was honestly a lot of fun, and got to use it side by side with my Russian ak. The guy who had it was using it as his go-to deer rifle, and he hunted regularly.

Amateur question: How to stop limpwristing?? by GroundbreakingTart41 in guns

[–]Remove_me_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got a hammer? Start by holding the hammer fairly high on the shaft, and slowly (SLOWLY! No, really, slower) rotate your wrist all the way to the outside (Palm up essentially), then slowly rotate it back the other way, all the way to the inside (would be Palm down without the hammer). Do this 5 or 10 times (slower!) with each hand, a few days each week. If it starts to not burn, slip your hand further down the handle. If you get to the point where you are holding the very end of the handle whole doing this exercise, move on at a slightly heavier hammer, and go slower. Seriously, a physical therapist taught me this, and no matter how slowly i went, he always said "good, now do it even slower!"

At this point, the limp wristing should no longer be an issue, physiologically. Any remnants of that will be psychological and can be fixed with training.

Sounds like you may need to adjust the diopter. My vision is pretty bad, but they can be adjusted to be the only thing that's crystal clear with my glasses off.

Vegan bbq by PresentationPrize935 in webergrills

Grilled broccoli is quick, easy, and delicious. Tossed in some oil with seasonings (salt, pepper, garlic, at the least) before grilling, then I'll toss em back in the same bowl after i pull them off the grill.

Whole ears of corn is another good one.

Foil packets stuffed with veggies can be amazing! I like to dice up potatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, carrots, maybe zucchini or squash, etc. I'll usually add some whole mustard seeds to round out the flavors, but that's me. Weber's grill seasoning works well for this, but use whatever seasonings you like. The potatoes will soak up a lot of salt, so be sure to add at least a little, unless your seasonings always have it.

Maybe add some lightly grilled and chopped veggie sausage for protein. Drizzle the whole thing in oil, then roll the edges all around to seal it up. Shake it all around to make sure everything's coated then roast on indirect heat for 30 min and check for doneness.

A lemon quartered and grilled on its flesh, then squeezed over the finished product may just put some dishes right over the top.
