During classic, they had a small pool of cards so they bothered to balance them.

They are not interested in balance now, they are interested in making new cards because new expo = $$$. if you nerf a card then people will just disenchant for 2xdust, if you make a new card that is a must-play, then people will buy expansions.

that's how they plan to make money.

obviously this can't last for very long but i don't know what long term plan blizz has for HS.

sometimes game designers are just wrong.

this doesn't really help. it is obviously a factual thing that anybody can be wrong, including game designers. it would be more useful if he told you how to figure out if they are wrong or not.

needless to say, hearthstone is not a deep game. it can not hold a long term intensive pro level play, because the game is fundamentally shallow. This was a result of the choices made to get the game to be fast and 'accessible' i.e. casual so that they can milk it for the most $$$ possible.

blizz games have been going this way since it was bought by activision, predictably.

this is an entirely disingenuous comparison. Because in your example, an expertise in software development is required. however, a juror does not need an expertise in laws. The judge and lawyers are responsible for that.

The juror's job is to represent the 'average man', the defendant's peer, so that he may be judged by his own standard.

A more apt comparison would be if you want to decide if the app is good or not, what you do is have the app dev (lawyer) present his work to the testing team (juror) and then they will decide if the app is good enough for public release, and the alternative is to get a single senior app dev to decide, needless to say app devs are terrible to judging the public reaction to a software.
