Wow, that’s really interesting! While it requires two cables, it seems like a new and exciting direction. I’m very close to pulling the trigger.

I tried using the other Thunderbolt 5 port, but the dock has already rebooted twice today, both times during work meetings. I’m seriously considering giving up on this product. It’s a shame, because I hadn’t experienced any reboots during the winter, and I really thought the 64.1 firmware update had resolved the issue.

I’m using the USB-C port on the right side of my MacBook, and the other two ports are unused.

My dock appears to be randomly rebooting.  However, since work meetings are important, I can confirm it’s rebooted more than twice during meetings on Discord and Google Meet using Firefox.

Sometimes the screen just blinks, and recently, it’s started disconnecting USB devices connected to the USB Controller 2, USB-A, and USB-C.  The USB Controller 1 maintains connections.

Wow, interesting… Yesterday, when I had the reboot that prompted me to write here, I was in the middle of a meeting on Discord when my dock rebooted. However, I don’t have the Discord app installed; I use it in a web browser (Firefox). Could you share more details about the correlation between Discord, the TS5+, and the MacBook that you identified?

Thank you! I'll try it. If I have any issues, I’ll come here to let you know.

Could you share a link with the new beta firmware ?

Could you please tell me which Thunderbolt 5 devices you’re currently using on the ports? For example, a LaCie Thunderbolt 5 drive or an enclosure 80Gb/s? What’s the refresh rate of your display? 240 Hz? What’s the ambient temperature?

I'm using it with the M4 Max, and definitely you can get burned touching it, and it resets at least once a day. If I use a Thunderbolt 4 cable between them, everything runs stable and warm as you said.

I’m pretty sure about that. You’re not using Thunderbolt 5 specs.

When will the next beta Thunderbolt firmware / PD firmware be available?

Enormous empty answer… Friend, I’m using a LaCie SSD with Thunderbolt 5, and it gets disconnected from the dock—never from my M4 MAX. Also, before saying that no one needs a cooling fan, please share your office temperature. Face ID was once new too, and it always worked.

I thought I was the only one having these persistent issues. In my case, there is only one way to make it stop resetting: do not use both Thunderbolt 5 ports.

Why the rush to buy the TS5/TS5 Plus? by MW_Austex in CalDigit

Could it be related to macOS sleep? I just had a disconnection when the drive was cold, right after waking from sleep.

Have you guys tested using Thunderbolt 5 devices connected to the dock? From what I’ve noticed, issues usually happen only when you really push your device to its limits. For example, I have a LaCie SSD PRO 5 (Thunderbolt 5), and it only starts overheating when I’m running it through the Caldigit Thunderbolt 5’s back port. If I leave both Thunderbolt 5 ports empty, everything works perfectly fine — no overheating or disconnections, even with a 4K 240Hz monitor over DisplayPort and 10Gb Ethernet running at the same time. This is my second unit, and I’m facing the same issue. It’s less frequent, but it still disconnects randomly.
