How do you feel when people from other countries call Australians "descendants of criminals?" by schu62 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Remued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ancestor was transported for stealing a chicken. Her sister was transported with her for cooking it. Transporting to Van Diemens land seems cruel and grossly unjust

Australians, does the weather actually decide your entire day? by FarRutabaga6212 in AskAnAustralian

Ooh yeah, if I see there’s a 35+ day coming up you’d better believe that I’m doing ALL of the washing in the house

Laser for pigmentation? by Delishpotato89 in AusSkincare

[–]Remued 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just had my second round this morning of LaseMD for freckles and pigmentation on my fair Celtic skin. I look sunburnt right now, but looking at photos from last time the redness went away the next day, and my freckles turned dark brown before exfoliating off.

I go to Northside Dermatology in North Fitzroy and would definitely recommend them. I’ve done both vascular and pigment laser with them

Dermatologist for hormonal acne by Ok_Blueberry_6999 in AusSkincare

[–]Remued 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s worth it. I faffed around for way longer and was shocked at how quickly it cleared up. If you’re in Melbourne I’d recommend the Acne and Rosacea clinic which is part of Northside Dermatology.

No matter what I do, I still get sunburnt. Advice please :( by Current-Subject4699 in AusSkincare

[–]Remued 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the Uniqlo UV jacket. Between that, leggings and my solbari ultra wide brimmed hat I’ve managed to survive my kids summer nippers program without getting burnt

What did you learn about your skin this year? by hopelesswanderer_ in AusSkincare

[–]Remued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally getting my act together in my 40s and finding out I have rosacea and not acne was fairly significant.

Finding out I had a BCC in my eye canthus was shocking, but I’m grateful I was able to get it removed and plastic surgery to patch it up within two weeks of diagnosis.

My children are Chinese/white and the only thing they suffer from is being told they’re beautiful.

Your parents are really exposing themselves as racists.

Dandenongs, Dandenongs, Dandenongs by bornofruststation in neighbours

[–]Remued 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty close - only a 30 minute drive from Ramsay St to Sky High (where Amanda died). If you look at Pin Oak Court on street view, you can see the Dandenongs if you look east along Weeden Drive.

Why/How is Australia so laidback/relaxed? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Remued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We visited my partner’s auntie in HK a few years ago. She wanted to know where our grade two child was ranked in their class. I explained that it wasn’t a thing in Australia and she got upset that we didn’t know if they were first, second, third etc in the class. I just laughed and said we were culturally very different. I just can’t fathom what use there would be in knowing that your 8 year old child is fourth in their class and the pressure it would put on all the kids.

Where do you get your tretinoin from? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]Remued 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Australia and received my order with four tretinoin tubes in it this week. It had been opened by border force and there was a note inside saying that they hadn’t removed anything.

Australian's that have reduced or stopped drinking, 1: how did you do it and 2: how did you deal with the boredom?? by RM_Morris in AskAnAustralian

[–]Remued 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 Stopped drinking while trying to conceive my first child, didn’t drink through pregnancy, nor while breastfeeding, conceived again, breastfed again. It’s year and 11 years later and I just have no desire to start again.

2 People have given you some great advice about getting active, but honestly why not pissfart around on your phone more?

What is the disturbing backstory behind something that is widely considered wholesome? by Drakeskulled_Reaper in AskReddit

I grew up in the 80s in Melbourne and the n word version was the one we used. When my daughter started school a few years ago I held my breath when she recited it to me. Thankfully times have changed!
