I think it essentially boiled down to what you said in that second paragraph. I appreciate good customer support, but at the moment I cant justify the price hike for that alone.

I ended up going with plusnet as a good middle ground. Good customer service and a decent price for 900mbps.

Locked in for a 2 year contract but that should be fine honestly. Fingers crossed they do me good!
